MLS opening weekend viewership just hit 9.7 million live viewers across every platform that's a massive 59% surge compared to last year's first weekend. The biggest move? They scrapped the extra MLS Season Pass paywall and folded all matches into standard Apple TV+ subscriptions. Result: way more eyeballs on the league. Proof that lowering barriers actually grows the audience. 🚀

@konnichiwazu @MLSMoves Because if they saw an MLS game being advertised and might have been mildly interested, they’d have to pay extra to watch it..? It’s positive to get general Apple subscribers into the soccer fold without an EXTRA paywall for users already on the platform

@rbnyxp @MLSMoves I don’t understand your reasoning. If a person has Apple TV plus before MLS, they must’ve reason to sub. How was that subscription become a ‘paywall’ or ‘extra hurdle’.
