One question that has not asked is how exactly the call between Trump and Zelensky originated. Ciaramella claims it was arranged on short notice and that the NSC had been pushing for it, while also suggesting that Trump was not keen on it. Given everything we now know, it is not a major leap to think that the call may have been part of an entrapment scheme from the outset, especially since it was entirely predictable that Trump would mention Biden on the call, given Biden’s own on-the-record remarks about leveraging U.S. taxpayer funds to get the prosecutor fired.
