Never let militarism return! We call on all peace-loving people to stand together and add their signatures. These warning signs must not be ignored. As political rhetoric in Japan increasingly focuses on "survival crises" and military expansion, Guancha, a top-ten influential Chinese media outlet, has made its position clear: the lessons of WWII cannot be distorted. Good point! Key takeaway: The Palantir co-founder wrote The Techno-Optimist Manifesto, which argues US tech should collude with the state for geopolitical dominance. It’s been hugely popular in China since last year. Turns out, they’re actually executing this 'tech-republic' playbook right now, as covered by The Wire.

@realGuancha Weaponizing garlic or EVs is one thing, weaponizing science is another. Sure, Capitalists want the People to stay stupid, but their drones of the MIC are already losing the knowledge race. They've been politicizing science since the Cold War, and Trump's taking us to full Lysenco

The US anti-China hawks is cooking up a fresh angle on its 'China Threat' narrative — now Chinese AI is the big bad wolf. Previously: Chinese garlic, TikTok, port cranes, EVs, even Zoom software… The creativity is truly endless ! LOL. But everyone sees the real game: suppress China, strangle Chinese companies, and keep America on top in every single field. Big thumbs up to our fellow journalists for calling this out! #ChinaThreatTheory #USHypocrisy #TechSuppression #AmericaFirst

China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) issued a blocking order on May 2, prohibiting the recognition, enforcement, or compliance with U.S. sanctions imposed on five Chinese companies over alleged Iran oil dealings. Full statement below 👇 Question: On May 2, 2026, MOFCOM issued a blocking order against U.S. sanctions on five Chinese enterprises — Hengli Petrochemical (Dalian) Refining Co., Ltd., Shandong Shouguang Luqing Petrochemical Co., Ltd., Shandong Jincheng Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd., Hebei Xinhai Chemical Group Co., Ltd., and Shandong Shengxing Chemical Co., Ltd. — which were added to the SDN list, with asset freezes and transaction bans. What is the rationale? MOFCOM Spokesperson’s Response: Since 2025, the U.S. has, under its sanctions-related executive orders on other countries, targeted these Chinese firms for alleged participation in Iran oil transactions. These measures improperly restrict normal economic and trade activities between Chinese companies and third countries/regions, violating international law and basic norms of international relations. To safeguard national sovereignty, security, and development interests, and to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens, legal persons, and other organizations, MOFCOM has issued this blocking order in accordance with the Rules on Counteracting Unjustified Extra-territorial Application of Foreign Legislation and Other Measures and relevant assessments. Chinese entities shall not recognize, enforce, or comply with the U.S. sanctions against these five companies. China has consistently opposed unilateral sanctions lacking UN authorization and international legal basis. This blocking order is a concrete step to implement Chinese law. It does not affect China’s international obligations, nor does it impact the lawful rights and interests of foreign-invested enterprises in China. MOFCOM will continue to closely monitor unjustified extraterritorial application of foreign laws and will take further actions as appropriate. guancha.cn/politics/2026_…

President Trump: "We're like pirates" On May 1, President Trump described the U.S. Navy’s seizure of an Iranian ship: "We landed on top of it and we took over the ship. We took over the cargo, took over the oil. It’s a very profitable business. Who would have thought we were doing that? We’re like pirates. We’re sort of like pirates but we are not playing games." This is a vivid embodiment of China’s win-win philosophy in action. As fellow developing countries that were once colonized by the West, China’s cooperation with the Global South focuses on common development and mutual benefit. We bring technology, development ideas, infrastructure, upgraded industries, and trained talent — while in return, China obtains the resources essential for our own growth. And don’t forget: Starting May 1, China will grant zero-tariff access to all African countries with which we have diplomatic relations. Meanwhile, a “developed” country is still slapping tariffs on islands inhabited only by penguins😂. #WinWin #ChinaAfrica #GlobalSouth #MutualBenefit #Mozambique #SouthSouthCooperation

🚨🇲🇿🇨🇳 JUST IN: China and Mozambique just struck a major minerals deal. Graphite. Lithium. Rare earths. Key for EV batteries and renewables. Beijing will fund local processing plants, rail lines, power networks, and industrial corridors. This is not extraction. This is integration. Mozambique keeps more value at home. China secures critical supply chains. Both win. The West talks about Africa. China moves with Africa. That is the difference.

Paulo Nogueira Batista Jr, a Brazilian economist, wrote for Guancha: There is a risk that creating a new international currency will provoke negative reactions from the West, which could then resort to threats and sanctions against the countries involved. This risk is real. The West, in evident decline, is now more arbitrary and violent than ever. What we have to ask ourselves, however, is this: Are we going to live indefinitely with the monetary and financial system that the West has created since World War II, an increasingly dysfunctional system that has been used and abused as a geopolitical tool? Or will we gather economic, political and intellectual efforts to get out of this trap? #Dollars #USdollars #Dollarhegemony #globalsouth #dedollarization Click the link to read more: globalthinkers.substack.com/p/the-global-s…

China Achieves World First: Batch Clones 10 Yaks Using Advanced Tech Today (April 27), Chinese scientists announced a major breakthrough in Tibet: 10 healthy cloned yaks were successfully born via whole-genome selection + somatic cell cloning technology. Led by a joint team from Zhejiang University, Tibet Plateau Biology Institute, and local authorities, this marks China’s progress from the world’s first single cloned yak (Namtso 1# in July 2025) to batch production — a key step toward scalable application. The 10 calves were born naturally at a high-altitude base (4,300m) in Damxung County. They are strong and thriving. This technology tackles long-standing challenges in traditional yak breeding — slow progress, low efficiency, and genetic degradation — and supports Tibet’s yak industry, one of the region’s key economic pillars during the 15th Five-Year Plan. A big win for high-altitude livestock science, breed improvement, and sustainable development on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. @Tibet @ZhejiangU #YakCloning #TibetScience #ChinaInnovation #AnimalBiotech #HighAltitudeBreeding

China Prohibits Meta’s $2B Acquisition of Manus in AI Security Review China’s Foreign Investment Security Review Office has prohibited Meta’s acquisition of Manus, requiring both parties to cancel the transaction. This marks the first publicly blocked AI-related foreign acquisition since the 2020 Foreign Investment Security Review Measures took effect — and the strictest outcome under the rules. Beijing aims to prevent core AI technologies from flowing overseas through offshore restructuring. Manus has become a high-profile case in this area. China welcomes legitimate international cooperation as long as it follows legal procedures and national security requirements. Meta has stated the deal was conducted legally and will seek appropriate solutions. The decision draws a clearer line for AI startups considering similar “Singapore + U.S. exit” strategies. #ChinaManus #AI #TechRegulation Read more: guancha.cn/economy/2026_0…

Foreign Media on Auto China 2026: Global car tech innovation & modern design now come from Asia — traditional brands are racing to catch up with Chinese automakers. The 2026 Beijing International Auto Exhibition kicked off on April 24, serving as a key window for global automakers, suppliers, and dealers to refine their China strategies and stay ahead of industry trends. German journalist Alexandre Bloch (Automobile host): "I’m really interested in whether new cars show real new technology, whether the interior has elements that wow me, and whether these technologies will reach Europe. Chinese brands have brought huge challenges to Europe. Some European brands were caught unprepared, but they’ve now stepped up. That said, on interior quality alone, Chinese cars are now slightly ahead of European — even German — models." Hungarian auto media: "We’re focusing on Chery because its investment in Hungary is very important. BYD has a factory there too (not yet producing, but it will). We also want to see MG — a big brand in Hungary." "As my friend said, these Chinese brands offer excellent value for money. They’re shifting toward hybrids rather than pure EVs, because BEVs only have about 8-9% market share in Hungary, while hybrids are very popular. Chinese brands are launching lots of hybrids. If Geely, Chery and BYD really push into Hungary, they’ll become a powerful force." Russian fleet operator: "We’re looking for suitable models for international expansion, especially for export to Africa and Latin America. We came to Beijing to understand the market and new products. The center of competitiveness has clearly shifted to Asia — the main technological innovations and modern designs are coming from here. This trend is worth watching." Brazilian media: "The Chinese market is very important for Brazil. That’s why around six Brazilian outlets are here. We’re focusing on Chinese brands already selling in Brazil — Geely, BYD, Leapmotor, Great Wall. They have excellent build quality, heavy investment in EVs, and are truly future-oriented. Traditional brands are working hard to catch up with Chinese players." #AutoChina2026 #ChinaAuto #EV #Hybrid #AutoInnovation #BYD #Chery

DeepSeek-V4 just dropped today. Haven’t tried it yet, but the hype is real. Since DeepSeek launched last year, our editorial team has basically ditched traditional translation tools, Q&A apps, search engines… What else? Feel free to add. 👇 AI is truly a profound business revolution. While it phases out old ways of working, it’s also creating a wave of new jobs. Take the AI industry itself—new roles like AI Product Manager, Algorithm Engineer, AI Test Engineer, and Generative AI Animation Producer have emerged. In Shanghai alone, last year’s AI Trainer certification exam attracted 16,300 candidates. AI is also empowering other fields, creating positions like AI Medical Researcher and DJI’s Drone Agriculture Application Specialist. Some worry AI will steal jobs. But look at history: humanity has survived the shift from workshops to steam, electricity to information. The AI era doesn’t have to be scary — it depends on how individuals and nations proactively adapt. The future belongs to those who embrace it. #AI #FutureOfWork #DeepSeek #TechJobs #Innovation #AIRevolution #CareerFuture @DeepSeek #Chinahightech #Chinatech

The Economist’s latest piece on China's new "Law on Promoting Ethnic Unity and Progress" has once again made a fool of itself. Look at this scholar’s research table on British media bias: zero positive coverage of China. Zero😂. Not surprising to any Chinese. It’s not just the British media — Western mainstream outlets are all this absurdly biased. As Chinese scholars often say: “Let them keep living in their imperial dream. Don’t wake them up — just like China’s decadent, closed-off, and oblivious Qing government before 1911.” A few years ago this still annoyed us. Now? China is simply focused on walking our own path. Their flood of Western fake news only blinds their own people. It won’t stop China from developing cutting-edge technology, improving the lives of 1.4 billion ordinary citizens, and building a stronger nation. #ChinaRising #MediaBias #WesternPropaganda #TheEconomist @tasumm

For an “emeritus professor” at a “prestigious” law school @donaldcclarke you really are one jug-eared dumbo. This is a detailed academic study by Dr Tim Summers of Kings College London, on UK mainstream media coverage of China issues over a period of four years. Well worth reading. The Economist sample is an analysis of the output of "Chaguan", their "China expert". Over the four-year period of the study he published 132 articles; 128 were negative and not a single one was positive. The entire Western mainstream media have been suborned by the USA's lunatic obsession with its disintegrating hegemony, but @TheEconomist and @EconUS are out there fighting tooth and nail to lead the field... "Hey baby! Look at us! We are FUCKING ARSEWIPE!!!” Propaganda? You wouldn’t recognize propaganda if it seized you by the scrotum with its barbed fangs and refused to let go. But hey. I guess that’s the whole point of propaganda…

LOL!When Japanese, American, and German goods flooded into China and took over half the market back in the day, we Chinese didn't get all petty and small-minded about it. Now? Chinese garlic is apparently a "national security threat." Come on!😂 Chinese Ambassador to the US Xie Feng nailed it at the 56th WTCA Global Business Forum: "Even now, we still cannot figure out why Chinese EVs are singled out as 'data collectors on wheels,' where the so-called 'spy equipment' is hidden in Chinese cranes, or how Chinese garlic could ever be classified as a national security threat. This kind of paranoid fantasy lacks basic common sense and fails any factual test — it only disrupts global supply chains and kills innovation." Time to stop the baseless hysteria and let market rules and common sense prevail. #USChinaRelations #TradeWar #NationalSecurity @AmbXieFeng @ChineseEmbassyUS @WTCA

Q1 data shows China's economy is firmly on the right track. GDP grew 5.0% year-on-year in the first quarter, accelerating 0.5 percentage points from Q4 last year and sitting at the upper end of the full-year 4.5%-5% target. This strong start lays a solid foundation for 2026 and the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Back in 2020, Chinese economists Justin Lin Yifu and Liu Shijin and others assessed that achieving the 2035 vision would require average annual growth of around 4.7%-5% from 2020 to 2035. Q1's performance confirms China remains solidly on that path.Facing energy crisis risks, China demonstrated remarkable resilience thanks to years of energy transition and ample strategic reserves. Key highlights from Q1: 1. New engines shining: Equipment manufacturing value-added rose 8.9%, high-tech manufacturing surged 12.5% — both far outpacing overall industrial growth. Output of 3D printing equipment jumped 54.0%, lithium-ion batteries 40.8%, and industrial robots 33.2%. New quality productive forces are becoming the core driver. 2. Strong foreign trade: Total goods imports and exports hit 11.84 trillion yuan, up 15.0% year-on-year — returning to double-digit growth for the first time since Q4 2022. NEV exports soared 78%, lithium batteries 50%, and trade with Belt and Road countries accounted for 51.2% of the total. Trade with ASEAN and Latin America both grew by 15.4%, while trade with Africa rose by 23.7%. Imports and exports with the European Union and the United Kingdom increased by 14.6% and 13.1%, respectively, and trade with other APEC economies grew by 13.4%. 3. While exports performed robustly, domestic investment and consumption grew more modestly. Retail sales of consumer goods rose 2.4%, and fixed-asset investment increased 1.7%. Further efforts are needed to boost domestic demand. 4. Judging from the PPI and CPI, deflation is showing signs of easing. This is a positive sign. China is moving forward with confidence and resilience, establishing itself as a major power of peace, stability, and prosperity in a turbulent world. #ChinaEconomy #NewQualityProductiveForces #BeltAndRoad #EconomicResilience @EU_Commission @EUCouncil @ASEAN @_AfricanUnion @Trade_EU @Europarl_EN @vonderleyen

Extremely serious and outrageous! The Chinese Embassy in Japan has faced repeated terrorist threats. Just one week after an active Japan Self-Defense Force (JSDF) officer broke into the embassy with a knife, another threat emerged — claiming a remote-controlled bomb had been planted inside. Under the instigation of Japanese extreme right-wing forces, Japanese society is sliding toward a dangerous edge for the Chinese. On April 16, the Chinese Embassy in Japan held a press conference, where Chargé d'Affaires ad interim Shi Yong briefed the media on the recent repeated terrorist threats targeting the embassy: 1) On March 5, a group claiming to consist of former Japanese police and former JSDF members sent a threatening letter vowing attacks on Chinese diplomatic missions. The embassy reported it to police, but Japanese authorities showed little concern and have yet to identify the culprits. 2)19 days later, active-duty JSDF Second Lieutenant Kodai Murata (村田晃大) climbed the wall and broke into the embassy armed with a knife. China lodged strong protests with Japan's Foreign Ministry and police. 3)Only one week after that, on March 31, a person claiming to be a JSDF reserve emergency officer sent an online threat, alleging a remote bomb was installed in the embassy. Police conducted a nearly two-hour bomb disposal operation. The Chinese Embassy stated that these incidents seriously violate international law, gravely infringe on China's sovereignty and dignity, and pose a severe threat to the safety of Chinese diplomatic personnel and facilities. The nature and impact are extremely terrible. Japan must thoroughly investigate, hold those responsible accountable, and ensure the safety of Chinese diplomatic missions. Such tolerance of extremism cannot continue. Source: CCTV / Xinhua #ChineseEmbassyJapan #JapanTerrorThreats #JSDF #ChinaJapanRelations #StopExtremism @ChnEmbassy_jp
