🗞️ Latest on U.S.-Iran Negotiations: 1. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said today that negotiations between Tehran and Washington are continuing “through Pakistani mediators,” in remarks carried by IRNA. ➤ “Basically, what we want is not a demand but our rights,” Baghaei said, pointing also to Tehran’s insistence on sanctions relief as part of any agreement. 2. The comments come as Anadolu reports Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arrived in Tehran on Wednesday for his second visit in less than a week, with Pakistani officials claiming the talks had entered a “critical phase.” ➤ Naqvi met IRGC commander Gen. Ahmad Vahidi and President Masoud Pezeshkian, and Pakistani sources said was expected to hold talks with and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi regarding the latest U.S. changes in its proposal. 3. Drop Site News’ Jeremy Scahill revealed on Tuesday details from his latest conversations with Iranian officials about what Tehran may be prepared to offer in a broader settlement: 🔹officials indicated they could agree not to clear rubble from the three main enrichment facilities bombed during the U.S.-Israeli war, 🔹potentially suspend uranium enrichment for a limited period, 🔹and eventually transfer enriched uranium to Russia or China in exchange for yellowcake for civilian nuclear use ➤ Iranian officials insist any agreement must first address an end to the war, the Strait of Hormuz crisis, sanctions relief, and the repatriation of frozen Iranian assets, Scahill noted. 4. Saudi outlet Al-Arabiya, citing Pakistani sources, said Pakistan’s army chief could travel to Iran to help finalize a framework if talks advance, and another round of negotiations would be possible in Islamabad after the Hajj pilgrimage season concludes in May. ➤ U.S. officials have previously criticized Pakistan for presenting a rosier picture of negotiations than what was actually taking place behind the scenes. The terms and timeline of any agreement remains unconfirmed, despite claims from Pakistani sources in Anadolu and Al-Arabiya. 5. Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said today that Iranians “should be assured” the country’s armed forces have used the ceasefire to “rebuild their strength,” and that “the enemy’s overt and covert movements show that it is seeking a new round of war.” ——— 🎥 Video 1: Jeremy Scahill in conversation with Negar Mortazavi (Tuesday) 🎥 Video 2: Meeting between Pakistan's Interior Minister with Pezeshkian (Wednesday via @TasnimNews)

⭕️ Netanyahu and Sa’ar rebuke Ben Gvir over abuse of flotilla detainees — days after UN and NYT confirmed systematic sexual abuse of Palestinian prisoners Prime Minister Netanyahu said Tuesday that while “Israel has every right to prevent provocative flotillas of Hamas terrorist supporters” from reaching Gaza, “the way that Minister Ben Gvir dealt with the flotilla activists is not in line with Israel’s values and norms.” He ordered authorities to deport the detainees “as soon as possible.” Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar addressing Ben Gvir directly: “You knowingly caused harm to our State in this disgraceful display — and not for the first time. You have undone tremendous, professional, and successful efforts made by so many people. No, you are not the face of Israel.” Ben Gvir had posted a video of detained flotilla activists, writing “This is how we receive terror supporters. Welcome to Israel.” The rebuke comes days after the New York Times published an investigation documenting the systematic rape and sexual abuse of Palestinian detainees in Israeli custody — findings the UN Human Rights Office subsequently confirmed, saying it had “systematically documented” sexual violence against Palestinian prisoners, including children.

💢 The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society says Israel has turned the detention, abuse, and torture of international solidarity activists into official policy, accusing Israeli authorities of using the seizure of activists from the Sumoud convoy and Freedom Flotilla to send a global message of intimidation against support for Palestine. The statement came as Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir posted video from Ashdod Port showing detained flotilla activists being mocked and physically restrained under the caption: “Welcome to Israel.” Ben-Gvir is seen waving an Israeli flag and declaring, “We are the owners of the house,” while another clip shows an activist shouting “Free Palestine” being shoved to the ground and told to “Shut up.” Other footage shows detainees forced to kneel face-down and marched with their hands zip-tied and heads bent. PPS said the scenes reflect some of the same humiliation and abuse routinely inflicted on Palestinians inside Israeli prisons, which it described as “one of the most prominent arenas of systematic genocide” under Ben-Gvir’s direction. Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani demanded an apology over the treatment of Italian citizens aboard the flotilla, calling it a “total disrespect” of their dignity. Adalah said Israel is enforcing a “criminal policy of abuse and humiliation” against activists confronting Israel’s crimes in Gaza.

⭕️ Trump and Vance Talk Iran and Hormuz 🔹 Trump said Wednesday he is in “no hurry” to reach a deal with Iran, dismissing pressure over the midterms: “I’m in no hurry. Everyone is saying, ‘Oh, the midterms.’ I’m in no hurry.” 🔹 He added: “Ideally, I’d like to see few people killed, as opposed to a lot. We could do it either way.” 🔹 On Tuesday, Trump threatened renewed U.S. strikes if no agreement is reached soon: “I’m saying two or three days, maybe Friday, Saturday, Sunday, something, maybe early next week, a limited period of time.” 🔹 He threatened Iran saying if it does not accept U.S. conditions, “the bombing starts again” at a much higher intensity, leaving “nothing left of them.” 🔹 J.D. Vance separately said Trump told him the U.S. was “locked and loaded,” though Washington does not “want to go down that pathway” at the moment. 🔹 Trump also claimed the U.S. has had “very good talks” with Iran and predicted the war will end “very quickly” and “fast” because Tehran wants a deal “so badly.” 🔹 Trump predicted global oil prices would plummet once a deal is signed, while dismissing polling showing low public support for the war, calling the military operations “frankly very popular.” 🔹 He also said Chinese President Xi Jinping gave him a “beautiful promise” that Beijing is not sending weapons to Iran, adding that he takes Xi at his word. 🔹 Asked about Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday, Trump said the Israeli prime minister will do “whatever I want him to do,” insisting the U.S. and Israel are “on the same page” over potential strikes and negotiations. 🔹 Trump’s comments follow what Israeli Channel 12 described as a “lengthy and dramatic” overnight call with Netanyahu, their second extensive conversation in recent days, as Israeli media reported both leaders were “on the verge of a decision” over whether to accept a mediated ceasefire proposal or resume heavy bombing of Iran.

"We're going to end that war very quickly. They want to make a deal so badly. They're tired of this" President Trump predicts a deal to end the war with Iran is going to happen "fast" — and that oil prices will plummet when the agreement is reached.

@realJoeGill I don't understand how we arrived this point in society, where instead of eliminating menial labor, so those people can go on to do more fulfilling work in creative fields, we started eliminating the fulfilling work of the creative fields, so those people can go do menial labor.

If you want to understand why so many people - leftists, Arabs, Muslims, antiwar folks - like and promote Tucker Carlson right now - despite his reprehensible views on plenty of other issues - it’s because he says stuff like this, which most others in the US media refuse to.
Drop Site@DropSiteNews

“As an Israeli you should pause before using the phrase ‘terror regime.’ Since you live in a country that murdered thousands of children in Gaza. It’s a little hard to hear that from an Israeli right now, I have to say.” — Tucker Carlson to Israel’s Channel 13.
