If you are not a military veteran of this country, you should not be allowed to vote. If you do not lead a family with children to inherit this land, you too should not be allowed to vote. If you want to have a say in the future of the country, you need to have skin in the game.

My dad (boomer with 5 houses, worked very hard his whole life), had a 2013 F-150 lariat. Garaged every day, looked like it just came off the showroom floor, never so much as a potato chip inside. 170k miles. He just traded it into the dealership…. For $5,000 He visited me 4 weeks ago, he knows I drive a 2001 Tacoma with 300k miles on it. I would’ve given him $10k. He didn’t even think to ask if I wanted it. Called me up all proud of the deal he made, said “I bet I could’ve gotten 7k for the truck but it wasn’t worth the hassle.” The dealership will sell it for $18k and I’m still driving the Tacoma.

Someone has pushed my buttons this morning so now I have something to say about PTSD judgment. Veterans get a lot of grief about being disabled. I was even like this once. I had just gotten out, had dealt with the VA a little and I was at a VSO week long trip with my family, working on stuff. In a talk session, a Navy female Fire Controlmen was crying talking about all the people she had killed by targeting cruise missiles off of a Destroyer. I watched those launches on deployment, they shot a lot of them! At that moment I judged that Navy FC, I couldn’t believe she had such a struggle with such a stupid thing. Now I come from a place that understands that what we all did was hard. That was the job, no regrets. But what we did at such a young age, was and is not normal, and it does and will effect you. As veterans try to approach each other with grace first on this issue and NEVER tolerate judgment from someone who has never been there. Take care of each other 🤘🇺🇸

Every single DDAY anniversary I think about this footage from Omaha beach and the soldier that goes down on the left hand side of the frame. Who was he? What unit was he in? Did he survive? What did he believe in? Was he a Christian? Where was he from? What would he think of the world today? If he didn’t survive I hope he didn’t suffer.
