@selinawangtv This makes sense. Also, messaging too much that Trump is bad was the same approach that Secretary Hillary Clinton took in 2016. In my opinion, voters have very short memories. They care more about their present situation than what happened in the past

Pennsylvania commissioner and member of the DNC National Finance Committee, Lindy Li, tells me: ON NOT BREAKING FROM BIDEN: Harris's "answer on The View left much to be desired. It was basically, you know, a slam dunk [for Trump]. She could have just listed out the reasons why she would be different from Biden and that her administration wouldn't be a Biden 2.0 – it would be Harris. She could have talked about closing the border, taking serious measures to bring down inflation. Rather than saying, ‘I can't think of anything’.” ON HARRIS AS A CANDIDATE: “If we had a vigorous planning process, we would have been able to weed out weaker candidates and we would have been able to have candidates work out the kinks. We were never afforded that opportunity.” ON THE ECONOMY: “I don’t think we did a good enough job reminding folks that inflation was a global issue. It wasn't a uniquely American problem… Americans just put the blame clearly on Biden, but it was an international problem. This is a very anti-incumbent environment. We see that in Japan, Canada, Europe, everywhere, inflation hit every single industrialized nation on earth, and for some reason Trump, well, I mean, Trump gaslighted his way there, but Republicans were able to convince American people that it was all because of Biden, which is totally not true. Supply chain issues in the pandemic paved the way for this, not to mention the stimulus checks that Trump sent out.” VICE PRESIDENTIAL PICK SHOULD’VE BEEN SHAPIRO: “Josh Shapiro was wildly popular in Pennsylvania, and he's famous for going to those parts that Democrats don't normally go to, those rural regions like Erie county, Luzerne, they love him there. They see him as a moderate, someone that Republicans can work with. He even had Republicans in his cabinet. I think having him on a ticket would have gone a long way to eroding Trump's allegation that Kamala Harris was the most progressive member of the Senate.”

Donors, surrogates, and campaign aides I’ve spoken to this morning have told me they’re “shocked”, calling the results a “bloodbath”, “awful” and “pretty f****** brutal.” Several have said that there’s nothing Harris could’ve done differently – that she did the best she could’ve with the cards she was dealt. One campaign aide telling me the fundamentals were “really bad”. The swing towards Trump was so large that “this clearly wasn’t about individual campaign decisions.” This source adding that most incumbent parties in the world lost post-covid.

@suddenlysobbing Maybe it’s as simple as “it’s the economy, stupid.” I don’t see real momentum down ballot either. I think folks voted on inflation and housing concerns

It just doesn’t make sense. So many republicans voted democrat. Kamala had more people at her rallies. She won the debate. We had all the professional analytical predictions on our side. I genuinely don’t understand how this happened.

@HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN The film also shows that society & institutions may fail you in many ways, and that your abusers may be the people closest to you. With a musical, we contrasts the Joker's imperfections and unavoidable failure with love and hope. A unique perspective for super hero films

I watched "Joker: Folie à Deux.” The beginning of the film is an animation sequence, reminiscent of the nostalgic "Looney Tunes", depicting a story of Joker and Joker’s shadow. In the trial that follows, the question of his multiple personality is argued from beginning to end. Is the Joker Arthur? Is the Joker another personality (his shadow)? Who exactly is Arthur? This revelation eventually transforms into a meta-perspective. In the previous film, “Joker,” was it really Joker who captivated audiences around the world? Or was it Arthur? This question is constantly raised to Lee and even to the people of Gotham City within the film. We live in an age of mass production of "poetic justice" heroes, a battle between good and evil. Lately, many spin-off films with a focus on the villains have been made. Can villains be superheroes too? Is this question posed on the big screen as a DC movie, too avant-garde? Was it the Joker that audiences around the world loved? Was it Arthur? This is where the reviews have diverged. Over the next 10 or 20 years, this film's reputation will likely change along with the permeation of hero movies to come. It may take some time for it to become a true "folie à deux.” But there is no doubt that everyone in the audience loved Joaquin and Gaga in this film 🤡

Fabric comes in different weights. In the menswear industry, this is measured in ounces or grams per square meter. American tailors tend to use ounces; Europeans and Asian tailors tend to use grams. Here we see swatches from Draper's Ascot book ranging from 8oz to 12oz.

This has gone under the radar, but if you have an Apple Watch Series 6 or newer with Blood Oxygen monitoring and you buy a new Apple Watch, you’re going to lose that very key feature a lot of people rely on until Apple figures out a workaround or settles with Masimo.

First time an AI image really struck me as uncanny. Not my prompt, this is an AI image generated using Flux and a Lora combo, I believe by Leo Kadieff. (He had posted it, at least)

My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.

I expected that Biden would step aside. But I never imagined that he would do it via a paper statement on a Sunday afternoon. Does this timing and format make any sense?

@secupp I feel these are the consequences of hyper polarized politics. The most partisan news outlets don’t mind if it’s going to generate engagement and revenue. The most extreme politicians don’t mind if it’s going to generate endorsements and votes. It’s just the public that suffers

And THEN what happens is the celeb is ostracized and maligned by Hollywood. So they go where their new fans are and become relegated to Christian and Hallmark movies, but have new fans in the religious right and political right.
