1. #CatlMatlala & 4 co-accused persons appeared in the High Court yesterday for various charges linked to attempted murder of #DJVetty #JoeSibanyoni including fraud & money laundering. Matter continues today:
1.1 The Court heard evidence through cross-examination of Mr Bethwell Cele, a security officer. He testified under cross that:
1.1.1 He retaliated when he was under attack.
1.1.2 It was not his duty to check how many trees were there at the crime scene.
1.1.3 He was frustrated by the defence counsel on the questions that were posed to him.
1.1.4 He works for #JoeSibanyoni at another Company.
1.1.5 It was put to him that he may have shot #JoeSibanyoni whilst fending off the attackers.
2. The #MadlangaCommission heard the much anticipated testimony of #IDAC Head Advocate #AndreaJohnson. Johnson was cross-examined and conceded amongst other things:
2.2.1 IDAC solicited the section 27 referral from Adams.
2.2.2 IDAC could have advised the Minister #SenzoMchunu that Adams referral did not and was not a proper section 27 referral as required by the Law.
2.2.3 The Adams referral did not set out the suspicions or grounds that should be investigated by IDAC.
2.2.4 That she used a subjective test in dealing with the complaints laid by Adams instead of applying an objective test.
2.2.5 That she abused her powers in relation to her exercising her authority. Her cross-examination continues this morning from 09:30.
3. #SulimanCarrim postponement application will be heard tomorrow around 11:30 at the #MadlangaCommission
4. Fannie Nkosi was back in court yesterday where his matters were consolidated. He is back in court for trial on 19 August 2026.
5. Former Defence Minister #MapisaNqakula appeared in court yesterday on charges of fraud. The state led evidence of its first witness.
6. Stars SA has released consumer Inflation data and has pointed out that inflation has risen to 5% in June.
7. Today, the #MPC is expected to announce its stance on interest rates this afternoon from 15:00 today.
8. #NdodanaTshuma, the UK triple murder-accused appeared before the Magistrate Court yesterday where he stated that he abandoned his bail application whilst awaiting his extradition back to the UK.

10. Advocate #AndrewChauke has been cleared by the #NkabindeInquiry he is fit to return to the office and commence his duties.

The #MadlangaCommission heard the much anticipated testimony of #IDAC Head Advocate #AndreaJohnson. Johnson testified amongst other things that: 2.1 She has over 30 yrs experience as a Prosecutor. 2.2 The claims associated with there being a ‘cabal’ at IDAC were misplaced and unfounded. 2.3 She prepared the memo for the prosecution of General #DumisaniKhumalo and that the NPA agreed with her views that there is a prima-facie case. 2.4 She invoke her rights not to self-incriminate herself. 2.5 She conceded that #BrianPadayachee was incorrect in saying he was not furnished with a section 27 referral. 2.6 Her cross-examination continues this morning from 09:30. 3. SAPS has issued a J50 warrant of arrest and is seeking KZN businessman, #ThomasGetsemane. Getsemane has since launched an urgent application to halt his arrest and setting aside the said J50. Matter is yet to be heard. 4. #JuliusMkhwanazi & ex-girlfriend #WitnessK appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s court following their arrests on Friday last week for theft connected with precious stones. They were both granted bail of R5000 each and will be back in court in August 2026. 5. The #ImpeachmentCommittee will today meet to appoint an Evidence Leader. #PhalaPhala. 6. The Western Cape High Court will this Friday at 10:00 deliver its judgment in the urgent application launched by President to halt the work of the #ImpeachmentCommittee until his review is finalized. 7. Justice Minister has increased the Small Claims Court Amount and limit to R30 000.00 from 1 August 2026. This means that parties can now take on matters that are R30k or less to the Small Claims Court. Parties can approach the Small Claims Court with legal representation. GLOBAL: 1. Please pray over your children's bath water. If your family believes in traditional cleansing, put a little sea salt, isiwasho, or your cleansing herbs in the water. Even if they only use shower gel, pray over it first. Water carries life. Let your prayers travel with that water.
Pray over their school bags, books, lunch boxes, shoes, and stationery.

If it's part of your tradition, smudge them with lucky sticks or sage before they leave. Sometimes you don't need a long prayer. Even a simple, heartfelt prayer from a parent shakes the spiritual world.

Protect your babies spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Ask them how school was. Listen when they speak. Hug them. Pray with them. Kiss them. Don't always be a dragon of a parent always spitting fire.
