@CarsonHocevar was just interviewed on the red carpet by E! That couple of minutes created exposure to millions of viewers who never have heard about #NASCAR That is why he is at the Met Gala

@ponine18151 @jeff_gluck I remember when Jeff Gordon was there and everybody said that is not #nascar but he attracted new fans Well, Carson is dressed a bit tame for the Met Gala, but it is good to get his name outside to #nascar circles. The Sport desperately needs new fans

@jeff_gluck This is huge! No Nascar driver has ever been invited to the Met. There are actors and musicians who try for years to get an invite and Carson is there! 👏🏼

@FWRobbins45 Corporations started having too much say. They can’t even get the numbers centered on the door anymore.

It will never not be embarrassing that the series whose trajectory put them on the path to compete with the NFL now looks like this on race day. This is what mismanagement looks like. #nascar

@automan224 @FWRobbins45 60 million was unique viewers over a season, not tickets sold. Attendance was in the low 20 million range early in the 2000s but as stadiums downsized, attendance shrunk. However, TV viewership is as strong as ever

@FWRobbins45 People tend to forget that the nfk also lost viewers and have smaller stadiums In the 00s they were pulling in 60 million people for the season Now? 20

@AndrewMarchand Great numbers, but Sadly, outside of the Triple Crown events, horse racing is struggling with relevance. Many tracks, especially smaller ones, see racing as loss leader to get people into casinos

@Hasuess @AndrewMarchand Third one is the Belmont which is messed up right now and NYRA finishes renovations to Belmont Park to accommodate winter racing with Aqueduct closing, Doubtful a league would work as tracks and horse owners have their own agendas

NASCAR has a serious business model problem. In 2025, #f1 generated 2.5 billion in sponsorship and growing, second only to the NFL at 2.7 billion. in 2024 #NASCAR generated 360 million and declining from previous years.

@A_S12 I agree with the charters to protect value, but why would anybody invest just to run Indy? #nascar model works because there are 4 opens slots every weekend. #f1 model ensures teams are able to run the entire season

Michael Shank on ending open entries: "It's just natural, I think, to want to create an environment like that for owners to gain value. And the way you do that is by limiting access. And that's what we did here, and it's worked for a lot of other people." indystar.com/story/sports/m…

Would have hated to be the 23 percent at @BetMGM tonight that bet that the Hawks would cover +2.5. Down 53 with six minutes to go in the third.
