@realpillnuke In public health, both are used precisely because they answer different questions and right now you’re answering the wrong one very loudly. Also, dropping terms like ‘HIV infested country’ doesn’t strengthen your argument.

Yet again showing your shallow grasp about the axioms and foundations upon which per capita is built on Its very foundation presupposes the idea that not all populations are equal, but by reason of human disagreement and need for comparison, also presupposes the very existence of differences, there must in fact be justifiable comparison. A shallow wit incapable of grasping such intricate details can’t blamed as he cannot see past his pertinent emptiness. Even more absurd is your inability to self reflect at the Much rather humongous number of ppl born with hiv in his country: a whopping 8 million. While the country, by which, you claim has the “highest babies born with HIV(a specific type of HIV said to be more dormant and less likely to recombine to form even more deadly combo as opposed to the one found in Southern Africa ”, just 2 million. Yet you so foolishly pretend like you don’t outnumber Nigeria both in rate and in totality, even if we were to account for the number of cases that goes unrecorded in Nigeria, it still wouldn’t be up to 5 million.
STOP GENOCIDE IN SUDAN✊🏿 🇿🇦@NeverMind1465

@realpillnuke @Laxix6 Per capita is about rate. This conversation is about total cases. Nigeria leads in total babies born with HIV, mixing the two just exposes the gap in your understanding. Wrong metric, arrogance and loud confidence like a typical Abegistanian.

@NeverMind1465 Like I said before it is only a category error if the original comparison you intended to make held no meaning. In order for it to hold meaning you must appeal to some sort of common ground I can’t keep explaining this to you. You are too ignorant

@realpillnuke Bringing up per capita in response to a statement about totals isn’t intellectual, it’s a category error. You’re arguing a different metric entirely, then pretending it disproves the first one. It doesn’t.

No it doesn’t. Your attempt to make this a simple: total comparison is truly flawed as it is laughable What coherent meaning does such empty comparison hold. All rational beings make comparisons to make meaning of something or to correct a false pre-belief If such comparisons is to show that Nigeria has a bigger HIV problem than South Africa, then you couldn’t be more wrong. Let’s even assume that Nigeria has a higher totality, which we both know that it doesn’t. Nigeria, having a bigger HIV population, does not in anyway indicate a bigger problem to face than South Africa. Because we have just as more hands to solve it. And this is why rate are necessary Statistical reasoning do not work in isolation, they work to justify beliefs and also form them

@realpillnuke So no, this isn’t about ‘not understanding per capita.’ Its about you overextending a concept beyond its scope to mask a very simple mistake conflating rate with total. Strip away the inflated languageand your argument collapses to a misapplication of basic statistical reasoning.

It’s not my fault you can’t grasp the crux of the argument, so your typical attempt at a fallacy Next time, don’t try to compare Nigeria to your HIV INFESTED country the moment you do, you already presuppose the concept per capita, for any meaningful comparison: not like you understand that

@realpillnuke What’s actually happening here is that you’re substituting verbosity for accuracy. You’ve constructed a pseudo intellectual argument around the concept of per capita, yet failed to apply it correctly to the context of the discussion.

You’re moving beyond your conceptual level, hence the steady sprinkling of asininities. You attempt to unblur the lines between something that is much clearly a vague distinction Like I said before, but seemed to fly over your head, the basis of this conversation is built on comparisons. And by definition, you cannot in all honesty, accurately compare two different populations, by sheer numbers. Such comparisons is summed up to the incoherent, as it holds no meaning, whatsoever. What gives comparisons meaning is its shared ground, and that ground, in this case, Is what defines per-capita. Per capita assumes differences. And so, yes “normalization” as you put helps to bridge such differences, in order to make meaningful comparisons

@realpillnuke Per capita is a normalization tool for rates it does not invalidate absolute counts when the claim being made is explicitly about totals. That’s a basic distinction in statistics, not an ‘axiom’ debate.

It does actually Given that this one of the sole reason that HIV is not as much of a problem in the west as it is in the south You have shown so far that you lack the intellectual capacity to even engage on the nature of things as pertained to numbers or epidemiological populations. Your blatant disregard for the very specific strain of the virus, which in fact contributes to why it is far more deadly, more viral, more likely to recombine, far more likely to form new nested strains of the virus This very self evident implication, which you gloss over as unimportant, unironically is the very foundation by which your claim matters You attempted to demean Nigeria by making reference to the totality of HIV patients. I, then tried to undermine such false claims by properly dissecting the details that pertain to HIV, and how it is so not equal or uniform

@realpillnuke Even more telling is your attempt to dilute the point with vague references to HIV variants and hypothetical recombination, which is irrelevant to the claim being discussed. Whether one region has a higher prevalence rate or different strain dynamics doesn’t negate the absolute

Either people like it or not ! OBJ father is from Anambra, and he should trace his lineage to Onitsha . The resemblance is striking, Igwe Onyejekwe of Onitsha that ruled from 1962- 1970. He lived in Abeokuta for years before being recalled home to be made King. He also lived in Owu, at the time OBJ was born Obi of Onitcha also helped OBJ gain admission into the military too. If he sure of OBJ which I know he won’t do. Is to do a DNA test with Onyejekwe, most Anambra people say he is their son. Isn’t that why the man is following Peter Obi around ? OBJ is the typical Yoruba but we have today!

Aremu Olusegun Obasanjo and Akanbi @officialABAT!!! The Yoruba spirit is no accident of history. It is legacy ancient, enduring, unbroken. This is why we are different. This is why our essence feels almost otherworldly timeless, resilient, unforgettable. This is why our culture stands intact, unyielding, preserved across generations. O Olódùmarè, guardian of destiny, continue to preserve this heritage. Let it never fade. For at our core lies mutual respect, Honor that binds us, And identity that cannot be erased. @Joe_brendan_ @kodiokeke If investors settle all involved parties, but the villagers keep coming back, the state government will be right to jail any such miscreants and designate the village as urban and take over it. Build a police or army barracks in the village. C'est fini.

Let me tell you why places like this cannot be developed even if you have the money to do so - The villagers and community leaders will not let you - The villagers and community leaders will drain you and threaten to attack your business every week - The villagers and community leaders will use your business as salary - You will get robbed every week - There are no roads in and out that are good In summary The Lagos coastline is what it is today because for some reasons, they welcome people and leave them there to do business You will never see that in any south south state. I am from a coastline village. BUA is trying to build a refinery in my place, but the villagers have frustrated the hell out of him that he shut down the project many times and was to leave Dangote built a refinery in Lagos and the process was smooth Other parts of Nigeria need to look inwards. Most investments and growth goes to Lagos because it is conducive

When I was residing in Abuja, I dreamed of capturing and showcasing Nigeria’s idyllic coastal clime, especially my home state, Bayelsa. Today, I am happy, fulfilled to have reached that dream. This is Brass Island.
