So they're actually damaging the gameplay so that they can give random whining players a participation trophy. This is just a net negative.

Here's why bots are so prevalent in #Fortnite BR 🤖 On a Typical Gamer stream last night, game director Chris explained Epic's mentality with bots and bot lobbies in Fortnite. To summarize, over the course of several years before bots were introduced, Epic found that chasing the Victory Royale began to feel less special for most players. Simultaneously, players began to expect to be able to win Victory Royales often, even if they only hopped on for an hour or two each night. Bots were introduced to help ensure that players would be able to score wins more often. Chris clarifies that this shift hasn't gone over well with everyone, and that they're always discussing making changes internally. When Fortnite OG launched, the mode trialed a more difficult matchmaking system with minimal bots. However, they found that the "data was not good" and that "players were not having fun," hence why OG now features bots. Chris does admit, though, that players might've gotten used to that matchmaking in OG had it been around for longer. Concluding, Chris reiterates that Epic Games is always considering changes to the matchmaking system, and wants everyone to have the best experience possible, but it just isn't easy when Fortnite is enjoyed by millions of people at varying different skill levels.

Thank god Kimiko of all people randomly got a Homelander killing ability by just standing next to some radiation literally 1 episode before the finale. Really glad the virus they spent 2 seasons hyping up ended up doing actually nothing. Eric Kripke should be ashamed of himself.

i mean to be fair you could barely kill things in subnautica 1. anything you killed would just respawn later and it was impossible to kill anything meaningful without stabbing it like 400 times. killing things in subnautica has always been a gimmick imo

Subnautica 2 devs say "go play Sons of the Forest" if you don't like its lack of violence. The game focuses on underwater exploration, and you cannot kill most creatures. On the official Discord, one player asked why killing is impossible in SN2 as it makes no sense. Level designer Artyom O’Rielly replied, “This is not a killing game, so go play Sons of the Forest if you want to kill.” Another developer said, “The team discusses this a lot inside the studio and may let players catch small fish for food, but large creatures will stay safe so the game feels right.” This idea comes from the first Subnautica, as the team wants players to discover things, feel wonder, and live with ocean life instead of fighting it. A fan-made mod already lets players kill creatures, and the studio is reading all feedback. It plans to add better ways to scare off creatures but will not add weapons. Early access is expected to last up to 3 years.

The impression I've gotten after 4 years of working on an MC server is that Mojang genuinely doesn't care about java multiplayer. As long as something simple and decent like Hypixel is available with some runner ups, then they don't care because they don't make money from it.

Barely anyone talks about this but Mojangs lack of game development depth has destroyed monetization for Minecraft servers. It's why you see every server selling OP items in a gambling crate because Mojang have failed to make it possible to sell literally anything else.

If you watch YouTube you likely know Davie504, the bass guy. He decided to finally leave Italy. After paying 60% in taxes he STILL got raided by the Italian Financial Police because he was a YouTuber. He says that though Italy says that the 60% taxes pay for free services it's not actually free. He says healthcare is "free" but the waiting list is 6-12 months anyways for a simple scan so you get scared and use a private clinic and pay out of pocket anyways so you're basically being double dipped. "In Italy you need a stamp, then a different stamp, then an appointment that's three months away, then you show up to an office then its closed, then you realize you need to know people and participate in bribe culture." These type of systems are untenable and people will flee to places they are welcomed and can thrive. "Loving a country that doesn't love you back is exhausting. You can't live on memories alone. You can't pay your rent with culture." "As an entrepreneur you want to focus on your craft and create, but in Italy it felt like 70% of my energy was spent trying to deal with a system." @realzunker Look, it might cost them a childhood gambling epidemic, actively supporting predators, suing people trying to improve their platform and developing the slop machine, but the shareholders will get numbers, which would definitely not look better, if they just didn't do all of this.
