Games have the most complex codebases I’ve ever looked at. Not even touching on game design, all the clever tricks that come with performance and network optimization, and the fact you have the most entitled client base of any industry.
Coding throughput was never the bottleneck.

@rawrity78 @_chippie out what even causes it to happen on some people's games) - I'll try to do more work on that
regarding softlock on conduit, was it while you were exiting the cutscene when you first initially enter?
English

@rawrity78 @_chippie ahh yes, the tool usage issue is a super annoying one that I can't personally reproduce, I thought I had potentially fixed it with a recent update since people who were having it in discord stopped complaining about it >> (it doesn't happen to me and I cannot figure

@KappaBits i can only imagine how much total bs you've been dealing with 😥

@koobazaur @IvyRoadGames Thanks for your perspective, it means a lot 🥴
Wanderstop looks perfect for a time like this, I'll check it out.

@recursive404 Anyway, just wanted to offer some affirming words that you're not alone, hope things get better!
Btw, I also recently played Wanderstop by @IvyRoadGames that touches a lot on burnout and made me think about things. Worth checking out if you're looking for a new cozy game.

You can move faster than you think. Looking back at the timeline I’m still surprised by how quickly we did it.
When the world gets scary, get busy.
Some of the world’s best company’s were all started during recessions and times of uncertainty.

This is the wild story of how I made $1,036,175 during the COVID lockdowns by rapidly creating a new physical product in 7 days.
In April 2020, during the lockdowns I created 2 things that changed my life:
1. – I launched Shepherd (eventually renamed Somewhere[dot]com). 4 years later we sold it for $52,000,000.
2. – I created a new physical product that made us $1,036,175 in 60 days.
This is the untold story of #2.

@puncayshun - when burned out, be happy with very small amounts of progress. just TRY to get some progress done. 5-30 minutes is enough, just make sure to have your progress logged/visible to you in some way (mine are mostly in the form of commit messages) [3/5]
English

@puncayshun - have something physical that you do to get you out of your head/stop your thoughts. i find gyms to be too expensive in money/time, so my routine is biking around when I'm feeling bad, or playing beat saber (it's a good workout + i really love music/moving my body) [2/5]
