Not only did Trump's ballroom contractor get a secret no-bid contract to repair two ornamental fountains in Lafayette Park, they're getting paid $17.4 million of taxpayer money to do it.
The Biden administration had estimated the repairs would only cost $3.3 million.

Here is the thing that bugs me on this. What Director Patel did in college is really just college kids being dumb college kids (PI and Public Urination). I do not think it hurts who he is today. Nothing major. BUT, DHS took harsh action against F-1 students who had similar arrests because they were "criminals" (even when dismissed or no charges filed) yet Director Patel gets to lead the FBI.

The headline says that the costs of Trump’s tantrums are “starting to show”. I don’t think Americans get that for Europeans, the Greenland debacle changed everything. It’s over. No one can trust the US. It’s not because of Trump. It’s because we know your system can’t/ won’t stop him or the next guy after him. And also that there’s enough of you who think it would be ‘cool’ to invade just to rub it in our faces. That’s a good enough reason to never trust you again and make everything far more transactional.
