DeSantis better get this straightened out as US tax payers should not bailout incompetence again. Elections have consequences.

@red_divided @jannykmak @thehill Insurance problems aren't new to Florida, Citizens Insurance exists for a reason. Myself, and many I know were forced to use them well over a decade ago. My first home had a replacement cost of $80k. Same home is worth almost $500k. Citizens exist because insurers pull out.

@red_divided @jannykmak @thehill Florida has hurricanes every few years that do considerable amounts of damage. Building materials are through the roof. Most of Florida is basically at sea level. Insurance is a scam, but from a business standpoint... they don't even have to offer policies in the state.
