REU and the Redding Parks Division are preparing for the upcoming fire season by installing long-lasting fire protectant wrapping to REU’s power poles. The heat-triggered wrap activates to form a protective barrier when in contact with wildfire.

The material is designed to extend the lifespan of wood utility poles by protecting them from rot and fire. This is just one of the many projects within REU's Wildfire Mitigation Plan to help mitigate the impacts of wildfire on our community. #cityofredding #workingtogether
