Pretty extensive history of the racism Serena encountered in tennis, and by the tennis media. Off the top of my head:
— Indian Wells
— Sid Rosenberg saying Venus and Serena Williams would be better suited to pose for National Geographic than Playboy
— Don’t get me started on the numerous examples of the inappropriate way Serena’s body has been discussed
— People losing their mind when Serena crip-walked
— Maria Sharapova being positioned as the face of tennis through marketing and endorsements, despite her embarrassing record against Serena and not being early as accomplished.
— The cartoon that appeared in Australia’s Herald Sun (see below)
While Serena is beloved (now), Bill Maher is acting as if she hasn’t been constantly subjected to racist and sexist attacks throughout her career.

Joseph Pilates created Pilates in a prison for sick prisoners. AND it was his understudy, Kathy Stanford Grant (a black woman) that refined it. She was an acclaimed choreographer.
