@SteveWhiteRail @DylisGeorge We must never forget these heroes. Many years ago, we had the honour of undertaking some conservation repairs to these two monuments, and it is good to see they are still looking their best.

Today a remembrance service was held at Dover Western Docks to commemorate 556 people of the Southeastern and Chatham Railway who fell in WW1 and 626 staff from the Southern Railway who were killed in WW2. Thank you to everyone who made this happen including @DylisGeorge👇

@JonathanFoyle Thank you for your kind words. I believe the benches will soon be changed. Our research showed that the doors were originally stain varnished but as they have been repaired & sections replaced over time, we decided to re-paint them. The colour was chosen by the @RailwayHeritage
