⛪ Throwback Thursday: the blessing of our new front steps in 1966. If you look closely, you'll notice that our iconic red roof was green (oxidized copper) back then.

We are your Anglo-Catholic church in Montreal since 1861, through many seasons of summer construction. 🏗️

Like for many churches, repairs and restoration have been a necessity for St John's. In the 1980s, our steeple had to be taken down for an overhaul. ⛪️ Our former rector, Fr Oswald Slattery, is seen posing with the steeple before it was put back in place.

The Feast day of Saint John the Evangelist alternates between May 6 and December 27, depending on the year. This year’s feast offers us the opportunity to commemorate ‘the disciple whom Jesus loved’ during a different liturgical season than the last.
