In recognition of public frustration with ‘stop-start government’, the Board says significant financial sanctions would apply if an Executive is not formed following the next or subsequent elections or if, at any time, the offices of First Minister and deputy First Minister become vacant. “A reduction of 10% would be applied to MLA salaries after six weeks, and again at weeks 12 and 18, if a government has not been formed in line with the Northern Ireland Act 1998, which allows six months for its formation.” This comes from the Independent Remuneration Board, which is responsible for setting the salaries and pensions of Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs). The Board noted that salaries in the Scottish and Welsh Parliaments, as well as Westminster and Dublin, have increased more significantly. Between 2016 and 2025, MPs’ salaries rose by 25%, while Members of the Welsh Senedd, Scottish Parliament and Irish Dáil saw increases of 19%, 23% and 34% respectively. In the same period, MLA pay increased by just 8%. Once the consultation closes on 5 March 2026, the Chairperson and members of the Board will reflect on the responses received and present a final determination to the Assembly Commission for publication and implementation.

@GazSmith_Chef Really find them brilliant for sides rather than turning the oven on. Much more energy efficient and if you get the dual one you can stagger the times etc to have two totally different temps and times running. Not much not to like

Should I take the air fryer plunge? The air fryer is the only kitchen gadget we don't have….. I just don't see the need. But all my mates swear you never look back once you get one. l have serious kitchen counter space anxiety. Pluuuuuussss I may be divorced if lland home with another gadget 🥴😝 So. are they actually worth getting? What do you really use them for? And any model recommendations? They seem to range from €30 to €300 which feels. ...confusing Do you have one ? Languishes in the cupboard or gets use ?
