@ChrisBuryNews Now, that’s a job — to be the headline writer of the tabloids!
English

@ChrisBuryNews An exceptional broadcaster/host/musician. And the Sunday Morning team honored Charlie in an exceptional way.
English

What a beautifully produced and edited tribute to a broadcasting legend.
CBS Sunday Morning 🌞@CBSSunday
Renowned for his exceptional storytelling, veteran broadcaster and iconic "Sunday Morning" host, Charles Osgood reflected on growing up in Baltimore, the impact of war years, and the enchantment of radio in this broadcast. (from May 23, 2004.) cbsn.ws/3OpmUQn

@ChrisBuryNews Charlie was not just a gifted writer, but his delivery made his words come to life as few broadcasters could. (And his piano playing was not too shabby, either.) RIP Charlie.
English

Sad to hear this. RIP, Charles. Osgood's writing for broadcast was pitch-perfect. He could write for the ear like few other journalists. Every broadcasting student should study his work.

Hanukkah starts tonight. Lots of us will be getting together soon for potato latkes -- and OTHER kinds of latkes. But the question remains: #teamsourcream or #teamapplesauce. This morning, @WTOP

@nprscottsimon what should be apolitical and simply bring joy, which they did in by simply being cute, has gotten sucked into the vortex of international politics, but no one should be surprised.
English

@ChrisBuryNews It’s as though the party forgot that the mission of politics is to improve the lives of your constituents and those in the country as a whole and not to make your chief objective self-perpetuation, no matter your record and accomplishments
English

@redsox54 Even more frightening is that elected Republicans are too cynical and cowardly to lead. Instead, they follow the ignorant Trump believers
for fear of losing primary elections.
English

To believe such a proven serial liar reflects an incredible absence of critical thinking. The wording of the question, “feel,” instead of “believe” is curious.

Proof it's a cult.

@NormOrnstein Our thoughts are with you, Norm, and the family. You have taken this horrific loss and made sure other families have tools to confront the mental health demon, a fitting tribute to Matthew.

Former President Harry S. Truman didn’t want to go too far on civil rights in 1948, fearing it would cost him reelection. But an obscure mayor named Hubert Humphrey changed the race — and his party with just one speech. wapo.st/3JXcZiU
English

@farhip Hope it short duration Paul and if there’s an upside you’ll have new immunities to protect yourself going forward.
English

75 years ago today, a speech at the 1948 Democratic Convention by then Minneapolis Mayor Hubert Humphrey would change the course of civil rights and turn the South Red, as @SamuelGFreedman beautifully explores in INTO THE BRIGHT SUNSHINE @washingtonpost tdy.lol/MCkIq

@ChrisBuryNews As a Medill grad, I’m so proud of the Daily Northwestern for reporting on the students’ school, football program and head coach, not an easy thing to do at some schools.
