Majority of foreigners in Juba no longer drive because of harassment by traffic police officers who swarm roads, streets and even nooks in the estates. Some have resorted to paying for tinted windows for their vehicles so that are not easily identified from a far (the light-skinned South Sudanese are also victims of this identification from the lightness of one’s skin) and stopped.
No serious investor would take this country seriously if driving yourself amounts to constant harassment on the roads. These acts might be termed as trivial but they have negative consequences for the overall outlook of the country.
The number of traffic officers deployed on the streets should be reduced, not every road or street should have the traffic officers. They no longer care about managing the traffic flow, instead they are fixated on compliance, not traffic offenses or enforcement of safety measures.

A woman had a destination wedding in Bali and paid for her friend’s flights and hotel.
Her friend of 10 years (newly married) decided to use the wedding as an opportunity to do her honeymoon because her and her husband were not able to have one because of expense. The friend didn’t even show up to the wedding she was there for.

French take: only unrefined cuisine rely on dousing their foods with seasoning. If making your food good is based on seasoning, you have no cooking skills. Good cuisine rely on texture and the alliance of the flavours of the underlying ingredients. Your reliance on magic powder to give tastes to your cuisine is just a skill issue. A good carbonara? You only need a bit of salt and pepper. A good tartare steak? Same. A good purée mousseline? Same.

In 2018, I was in Tanzania in an old southern coastal town called Lindi. I ordered sea food and I saw the fishermen get on the boat to go get it fresh from the ocean lol. I still remember the taste.
