I spent some time with the teachers of our littlest Alabamians at @AL_DECE’s conference today. Pre-K teachers not only lay the foundation for our students but also the foundation for the future of our state. We’re proud of their work! #alpolitics #StrongStartStrongFinish 1/2

Since taking office, I’ve nearly doubled the percentage of four-year-olds we’re serving through First-Class Pre-K. We’ve tripled the budget for Pre-K since 2017 & are investing historic amounts in education & our sights are set on even more to accomplish. #alpolitics @AL_DECE 2/2

Playing with letters and sounds is not just fun, it’s also the building blocks of language and reading skills. Children are using what they already know, paying attention and thinking flexibly. These skills also help them to come up with new, creative ideas. #bornready

We are thrilled that @GovernorKayIvey and our state leaders continue to invest in Alabama First Class Pre-K, maintaining all 10 NIEER quality benchmarks for 16 years running. Thank you funding that allows us to serve 1,728 more students in our First Class Pre-K program. #PreK4AL
Governor Kay Ivey@GovernorKayIvey

I’m proud to announce AL’s First Class Pre-K program will add 96 new classrooms in 35 counties this fall! We’re also honored @AL_DECE has been rated as the nation’s highest quality state pre-K program for the 16th year. #alpolitics  governor.alabama.gov/newsroom/2022/…

BREAKING NEWS! The Alabama Legislature has given final approval to a $22.5 million for First Class Pre-K, AND a historic $17.8 million to support child care quality. ASRA's Pre-K Task Force recommended both investments, which were initially proposed by Governor Ivey. #PreK4AL

Liz Huntley @huntley_liz is one of the brightest stars in our state. She is always paying it forward. We are honored for her continued service on our board. Thank you for highlighting her, @GovernorKayIvey!
Governor Kay Ivey@GovernorKayIvey

It's my pleasure to spotlight Liz Huntley in our weekly #BlackHistoryMonth tribute series. Liz’s story is truly one to be admired, as she lived through & overcame tremendous adversity in her childhood. She is an exceptional Alabamian, & I'm proud to call her a friend. @AuburnU

.@GovernorKayIvey proposes a 4% pay raise for teachers. That would raise the starting salary to $43,357. The image below is the current teacher’s minimum salary schedule. #aledchat
