It’s a problem that it takes some sort of shaman to understand the federal budget process. It seems purposely designed to obfuscate. We the people understand a proposal and a vote with a roll call so we can understand exactly what Congress overall and our representatives in particular are doing. Or not doing. All the rest is BS and explains why nobody trusts Congress anymore.

✋Did you see this? The BEST description of Socialism versus Capitalism I have heard.
Maher saving America? Who could have imagined?
CLIP: Bill Maher leans back, adjusting his tie, looking directly into the camera with that "I'm the only adult in the room" smirk.
"Look, I know the kids on TikTok think Socialism is just a giant Scandinavian hug where nobody pays for rent and everyone gets a free emotional support goat.
But let's get real.
Capitalism is like that messy, high-maintenance girlfriend. She's loud, she's greedy, and she'll break your heart-but she's the only one who actually shows up to the party with a bottle of champagne —and a job.
Socialism? That's the guy who promises to split the check equally, but then orders the lobster while you're stuck eating the garnish.
It sounds fair until you realize 'equity' usually just means everyone is equally broke.
The Breakdown:
Capitalism: You have two cows. You sell one, buy a bull, and start a dairy empire. It's chaotic, sure, but you've got cheese!
Socialism: You have two cows. The government takes one and gives it to your neighbor who who thinks cows are a social construct. Now nobody has milk, but hey—at least we're all 'aligned.'
We've spent 200 years building the greatest ATM in human history.
Maybe we shouldn't let people who can't even manage a Starbucks order be the ones to rewrite the tax code.
You want to help the poor? Great. Start by making sure the engine that pays for the help doesn't run out of gas.”

Virginia Republicans tried to elect the first black female governor in the country last year.
@vademocrats backed the wealthy white woman.
@SenLouiseLucas backed the wealthy white woman.
@SpeakerDonScott backed the wealthy white woman.
@BarackObama backed the wealthy white woman.
@NAACP backed the wealthy white woman.
@VEA4Kids backed the wealthy white woman.
Democrats treated a republican black woman like garbage because she was in the wrong party.
So kindly spare us your ‘republicans don’t want black people to vote’ garbage.

It’s time to vote differently in California, we have given the Democrats enough of our money time and livelihoods and all we have received in the end was higher taxes and higher cost of living.
* Bacerra said he will not pause the gas tax. His wife in on the board of the Dignity Health (CommonSpirit) and refused to be part of the Dignity Financial Assistance program (meaning, the poors couldn't be her patient)
( reported by @jenvanlaar)
* Mahan’s wife is on the board of a private school that received $862k in grants from the city, the city that her husband is mayor of.
Career politicians are going to career politician. Vote different vote early.

NOBODY IS TELLING YOU THE REAL STORY OF THE SCOTUS VOTING RIGHTS RULING
Yes, the Court ruled 6-3.
Yes, race-based districting is now unconstitutional.
Yes, Louisiana's map got thrown out.
But here's the part everyone is missing:
Democrats don't have a House majority without those court-ordered maps.
→ A dozen of their current seats sit in districts that only exist because federal courts FORCED states to draw them
→ Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina — every one has at least one Democrat seat in a court-created black-majority district
→ Their House margin is FOUR seats
→ SCOTUS just made 12 of their 213 seats legally redrawable
→ Republican-led legislatures don't need new voters — they need a redistricting committee and a Tuesday afternoon
If race-based districts are unconstitutional, then Louisiana redraws.
If Louisiana redraws, then Alabama redraws.
If Alabama redraws, then every Southern state redraws.
If every Southern state redraws, the Democrat House majority was a 60-year courtroom artifact — not an election result.
That's what nobody is saying out loud.
The 2026 midterms were just decided 6-3 — six months before Election Day.
if you're not following me you're finding out about this 48 hours late from someone who read my post..

Los Angeles councilwoman Nithya Raman admits to Democrat spending a billion dollars of taxpayer money to buy drugs for drug addicts
Resident “You're spending a billion dollars giving money to drug addicts who are buying drugs with the money, and you know that”
“Well, Yes”
WOW… They don’t even try to hide it anymore, they openly admit it.

@HarmeetKDhillon I have absolutely no idea what any of this means but it creates a deep longing in my heart. Wow. Oh, and you’re a brilliant lawyer as well. Cool.

DeSantis is a gift to Republicans. He structured a plan that used every lever of power that was workable to make Florida more free and more conservative than any other state - then he had the balls to see it through.
I wish he could coach every other Republican governor.
Bonchie@bonchieredstate
It took DeSantis two days to get this done. Dude is simply a legend.

This is the best political ad I've ever seen. Because it's not political. It's not a stunt. It's a dad who lost almost everything (thank God he still has his wife and kids) speaking from his heart, and knowing that millions of Angelenos feel the same way.

California's $2.2 billion solar plant is shutting down.
Once hailed as a breakthrough, the Ivanpah Solar Facility in the Mojave Desert is now a case study in failed technology and environmental risk.
Built with $1.6 billion in federal loans in 2014, the plant was hailed as a symbol of America's clean energy future. It used 173,000 mirrors to focus sunlight onto three massive towers heating fluid to drive steam turbines.
Complicated.
Expensive.
And it never delivered on its promise.
After just 11 years, the technology is now obsolete.
On top of that, the facility became notorious for its environmental toll, with estimates of at least 6,000 birds incinerated each year by the concentrated beams.
The promise was affordable, reliable, green power. The reality was high costs, technical failures and ecological damage.

“Defer”? That is no answer, Governor. Or a bad one.
Governor Gavin Newsom@CAgovernor
Let’s be clear: LA fire survivors who lost their homes shouldn’t have to pay property taxes based on a value of a property that no longer exists. Today my office urged LA County to offer clarity and assurance for these impacted survivors so that they can continue to defer payments without penalty.

Los Angeles Controller Kenneth Mejia says they’ve found fraud and abuse
- A single homeless service provider gave fake documents and invoices, stealing $23 million for taxpayers
- Another nonprofit named the Skid Row Housing Trust that managed 29 buildings was letting the properties rot. This ended up costing the city of Los Angeles $30-$40 million dollars in repairs
He says the have a batch of 800 more cases and they’re “going to be expensive”
The fraud and money laundering is insane

You would think. But he won’t. Angelenos are oblivious and stupid. helLA has zero chance of coming back. People have already accepted a certain level of degradation and government incompetence. They already had a chance last time to vote for change and they refused. Refused to change their voting patterns and refused to show up to vote at all. HelLA is over. Props to Pratt for trying. But no, he will not win. Angelenos are too oblivious and too stupid.

Steve Hilton shocks Chamath: The real reason for California’s high gas prices?
80% of oil from Iraq… and much of the rest from the Amazon rainforest.
@SteveHiltonx "As a result of Democrat climate policy, we are now expanding oil drilling in the Amazon rainforest in order to provide the right kind of oil for California's refineries.
And of course, in the process, we're spewing out carbon emissions because the tankers run on what's called bunker fuel, which is the most polluting form of transportation there is."
