🚨 Why So Many Protestants Are Done with the Modern Papacy I respect Catholicism deeply, but this is exactly why so many Protestants have major issues with the current direction of the Vatican. The Pope’s clear liberal political bent is impossible to defend. He was personally invited to join President Trump’s “Board of Peace” — and he refused. Yet he’s been noticeably silent on the real wickedness and aggression driving the ongoing Ukraine war. Why no strong, direct call-out of Putin? Fear? Politics? Selective outrage? Whatever the reason, it reveals a troubling pattern: quick criticism of this American administration, but a pass for evils elsewhere in Europe. I respect true Christian leadership. What I can’t respect is liberal activism dressed up as moral authority. Catholics and Protestants alike deserve better from the Chair of Peter. @charlieo_conn First period effort was poor overall after establishing the 2-0 lead. Way too open, letting Jack Hughes run wild. Liked that they took advantage of their opportunities to build the lead to 4-1 and shut the door in the third on the wide open play of the first half of the contest.

It’s absolutely shocking and insane that the Senate thinks it’s acceptable to go on recess until April 13 when a federal agency of 260,000 has not been funded. This is waning days of the Republic type malfeasance. Force these geriatrics to fly back to DC and do the job.
You simply do not leave until the job is done. We expect more from basically every other profession in this country. Why does Congress get rewarded for failing to do basic job requirements?

President Trump has the power to convene the Senate under Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution “on extraordinary Occasions.” If a department with 260,000 employees (DHS) going unfunded isn’t an “extraordinary occasion”—especially while the Senate is out on a two-week recess during that shutdown with no plans to resolve the impasse beyond “we’ll deal with that in two weeks”—I don’t know what is.
