yes, because I'm not a pissbaby grifter coward. The genocidal underfunding of trans healthcare, and the resulting malpractice to which I was subjected, is not a fucking excuse to cause MORE of the same suffering I've been through. Shame on everyone who thinks this way.

@rejectHisDesign Honest question I hope you answer: do you still support these types of surgeries

I get about 4x as many dirty looks in public when I wear a mask, and I can't tell to what extent it's because people are that hostile to masking itself, versus the idea that giving a fuck about other people marks you as Suspiciously Transgender.

The Kirkification meme was probably one of the only major successful instances of détournement in recent history & it was entirely accomplished by kids who prob never even heard of the Situationists & just had the impulse to subvert the semiotic structure of obnoxious propaganda

@TheReeveOliver Corporate directors and executives are just doing what capitalism incentivizes them to do. This is the inevitable trajectory of the system working as intended by its architects.

@rejectHisDesign Everyone has lost their minds. Especially business leaders. This feels very much like Covid to me in the sense that people are acting out of fear and doing things that will have destructive consequences years down the road.

One of the first things you learn in computer science is that it's an incredible waste of time and resources to re-generate an answer you already knew. We largely solved this problem for large data sets by "indexing" them so that they could be efficiently searched.

Google announces it will now prioritize AI-generated answers in search results over human-written website articles • Search will be centered around a reimagined ‘intelligent search box’ • Starts next Tuesday (via @TechCrunch)

@mov_xor It's more accurate to say that they are *all* hallucinations: when they are "correct" it is for the exact same reason as when they're incorrect, and it has nothing to do with reasoning through a problem

@rejectHisDesign There's also the detail that these newly generated answers now can come with hallucinations so it's actually even worse than regenerating the same answer, the answer now can simply be completely wrong for no reason

@rejectHisDesign God, I just realized indexing is going to become a fad now thanks to AI and now I'm depressed

@rejectHisDesign Like with some kind of engine that runs on a ranking algorithm that is used to search large data sets and return the results to the user. 🤔 Google should invent something like that.

@sugarbets_ I think Google is *extremely* stupid because I am routinely seeing different results when I repeat a search

@rejectHisDesign I’m sure they are caching and using direct embedding. Unless you think GOOGLE is stupid

@19Joeyo @rejectHisDesign LLMs are the wrong kind of AI for that. you would want something more like the machine learning algorithms that are used in economic forecasting

@19Joeyo The technology of computers? What couldn't they be used for if we collectively put our minds towards making things better instead of exploiting each other? Impossible question to even begin to answer in this medium. Especially BC I can't type on a phone for love or money
