Today HARD Uganda & Feminature Uganda under the #GEAR Project, held a community dialogue inRhino Camp–Omugo 6.participants discussed barriers to women’s leadership including intimidation, fear, cultural norms. #OPM urged an end to early marriage & support for women’s leadership.

We were privileged to partake in the validation meeting for NECDA's 5-Year Strategic Plan We are committed to supporting initiatives that promote holistic ECD, improve the quality & accessibility of ECD services in Uganda particularly for vulnerable #refugee children #ECDMatters

This week in Yumbe District, we held community feedback sessions for the Kulea Watoto Early Childhood Development and Livelihoods Project, where we shared key findings from the impact evaluation with community leaders and the Community Advisory Board (CAB), and collected reflections from participants on their experiences with the project. We concluded by awarding certificates of appreciation to the CAB for their contribution to the project’s success.

A year ago this felt impossible. Today Philomenya works as a hairdresser in Kampala after completing training. Her next goal is opening her own salon. YARID offers free vocational training in hairdressing, tailoring, welding, arts & crafts & ICT. #ForAllWomenAndGirls

SRP outreach continues across refugee settlements in Uganda Our team is engaging refugee youth in Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement on opportunities through the Student Refugee Program (SRP), including pathways to post-secondary education and resettlement in Canada. This week our team under the #SPARK ECD Project funded by @relonuganda under the theme "Nurture Now, Early Childhood Matters " engaged the community in selecting ECD Champions and Caregivers who will be trained to support ECD in the community. #NurtureNow #EarlyChildhoodMatters

Today HARD Uganda hosted @CARE Uganda, @CARE Austria, @feminature and @ceforduganda at our office under the #GEAR Project for a brief learning visit. We shared experiences of working in the refugee settlement, highlighted key gaps affecting refugee and host communities.
