@KyranBracken @Saracens cracking game! tigers started swiftly and great defensive effort at the end from them . good zip in the pass from Jack-and a nice try !
English

@MemEnglandhokey @hockeyWrldNws no one mentioned that . no i dont love EH.
English

@relphj @hockeyWrldNws James, are you suggesting we should ignore law breaking and child abuse and we shouldn't share content that is has happened?
Just not post anything and move on....
Go away. You're being foolish and your love for EH blinds you
English

@MemEnglandhokey @hockeyWrldNws it's hard to do research on content you can't / won't share . fair enough . but spreading content like this isn't helping anyone .
English

@relphj @hockeyWrldNws No. Do your own research if you care that much.
Not our stories to share are we wouldn't do any victims like that.
English

@hockeyWrldNws @MemEnglandhokey so much opaque reference . be clear why you mean please
English

@MemEnglandhokey Care to elaborate further?
Happy to discuss via DM.

2/2 Year after year it seems decisions and choices are made that have a negative impact on clubs or players with zero feedback. Meanwhile we lump all eggs in an ever decreasing basket of central contracts. Is there any wonder people are disenfranchised @MemEnglandhokey
English

Will never understand why hockey clubs in England are not at the centre of everything @EnglandHockey does. Coaching, junior development, NAGs nominations, senior international programme etc etc. Nothing has changed from my time playing juniors. 1/2
English

@MemEnglandhokey @sportisthething @EnglandHockey your implication is unwarranted and negative imho. but a lot of your posts are quite anti EH
English

@relphj @sportisthething @EnglandHockey Yes because missing one safeguarding case it missing one to many. There is no other way to look at it.
English

Wow. Just when you think @EnglandHockey couldn’t get worse you hear another story
Makes you think how many safeguarding concerns may have been missed by them over the years
Coventry & NW Hockey Club@CNWHC
@MemEnglandhokey @Sport_England @DCMS @EnglandHockey We contacted about a safeguarding issue a few years ago and got ghosted - so we just went to the local authority who actually helped advise us
English

@MemEnglandhokey @sportisthething @EnglandHockey your sentence is focussing on the negative . of course no one wants any cases
English

@relphj @sportisthething @EnglandHockey One safeguarding issue missed it too many. Didn't assume lots have been missed, said wonder how many have
Bottom line, one is unacceptable.
English

@sportisthething @MemEnglandhokey @EnglandHockey agree we have had the same experience . swift responses and well managed . assuming lots has been missed is just hearsay
English

@MemEnglandhokey @EnglandHockey 😳
Have to say they have been very good over the couple of safeguarding issues we have had to refer to them over. Maybe we just got lucky
English

@relphj Don't know enough about it so no point commenting on it.
Not going to fake positivity, that's why hockey is such a mess anyway. People spending years cheerleading England Hockey when they're actually quite crap in many areas
English

@MemEnglandhokey answer a question with a question . . . kids playing at nottingham for TA?
English

@relphj Apologies, you must have misread my previous message,
please can you give us something to be positive about?
English

@MemEnglandhokey some of the posts are funny but i have yet to see a single one that's positive about hockey .
English

@relphj Give us something to be positive about...
English

@stu_taylor173 @DOYRMS great to see a lot of lads there . good lad, gone too soon
English

Farewell Mike. A fantastic day, yet so sad. 51 is not an age to be lost. A wonderful turn out of brothers @DOYRMS

Fighting Performance from Old Georgians Falls Short Against Ruthless Rotterdam
Old Georgians bowed out of the Euro Hockey League FINAL4 race on Friday, falling to a 6–3 defeat at the hands of a clinical Rotterdam side in the FINAL8 – but not without showing glimpses of brilliance and the spirit that defines our club.
From the outset, OGs looked composed and dangerous, dictating large spells of possession and creating wave after wave of attacking pressure. We earned 13 penalty corners across the 60 minutes, but were left to rue missed opportunities in front of goal, particularly in a first half that could have told a very different story.
The Dutch side took a narrow lead into the break, with Guus Jansen expertly lobbing George Pinner from a long aerial ball in the 23rd minute. OGs came out firing in the second half, and it didn’t take long for Ashley Jackson to level the game with a rocket from a corner routine in the 37th minute – a moment that lifted the team and the travelling supporters.
However, Rotterdam’s strength on the counter began to show, with back-to-back goals from Jeroen Hertzberger and Thijs van Dam leaving OGs chasing the game. Refusing to lie down, we struck again through James Carson, who pounced on a rebound to make it 3–2 and reignite belief.
But as the game opened up, Rotterdam’s pace and precision on the break proved decisive. Hertzberger added his 49th EHL goal before Pepijn van der Heijden and Dylan Lucieer closed out the scoring. Sam Ward fired home a late third for OGs, but it was too little too late in a match that showcased the fine margins of top-level European hockey.
Despite the result, the squad showed resilience, quality, and fight throughout – and the performance was a proud reminder of how far this team has come on the European stage.
After the game, captain James Albery reflected on the outcome with trademark honesty:
“It was a frustrating one. We created a lot of chances, especially in the first half, but credit to Rotterdam—every time they came forward, they punished us. That level of clinical finishing is what these games come down to. We’ll regroup quickly and look to finish the weekend strong.”
Old Georgians will now face Royal Leopold (Belgium) on Saturday morning at 09:15 in the 5th–8th classification round, looking to finish the EHL campaign on a high and cement our standing among Europe’s elite.
Let’s go again, OGs. 💪🛡️
