Pensioensparen in een fonds is NIET de oplossing voor box3! Mijn box3 berekening van gisteren heeft veel losgemaakt. Ik krijg reacties van ondernemers, beleggers én werknemers die hun pensioen (deels) zelf willen regelen en zich klemgezet voelen. Het idee dat zij maar gewoon in een pensioenfonds moeten beleggen is veel te simplistisch. Dat is namelijk de meest gehoorde oplossing. Laten we daarom het hele verhaal vertellen: 1. Pensioensparen betekent je geld vastzetten Pensioensparen klinkt veilig, maar betekent vooral: geen flexibiliteit. Je zet geld vast tot (rond) je AOW-leeftijd. Niet voor als het nodig is, of als er kansen zijn, maar volgens een vast schema. In pincipe geen tussentijdse opnames, of anders met forse belasting en boetes. Voor ondernemers en zelfstandigen met wisselende inkomsten, risico's en kansen is dat een groot nadeel. Maar ook werknemers die zelf willen sturen ervaren dit als beklemmend. 2. Je levert zeggenschap volledig in Bij pensioensparen geef je de regie uit handen. Jij bepaalt niet waar je geld in wordt belegd. Het kan terechtkomen in Amerikaanse aandelen, staatsobligaties, grote multinationals en sectoren waar je principieel of economisch vraagtekens bij hebt. Of je wilt of niet: Je kunt niet bijsturen. Niet kiezen en niet differentiëren. 3. Het rendement is asymmetrisch Als je denkt bij een pensioenfonds "veilig" te zitten, moet beseffen dat veiligheid een prijs heeft. In slechte jaren vaak geen indexering of soms zelfs korting. In goede jaren worden meevallers voorzichtig verdeeld. Buffers, herverdeling en beleid dempen de upside. Dat is een bewuste keuze van fonsen, maar betekent wel dat je niet maximaal profiteert van je eigen kapitaal. 4. Je bezit geen persoonlijk vermogen, maar een aanspraak Dit punt wordt vaak vergeten. Bij pensioensparen heb je geen individueel vermogen en geen persoonlijke eigendomstitel, maar een aanspraak binnen een collectief. Dat betekent dat: - herverdeling altijd meespeelt - beleid en regelgeving hebben directe impact - zekerheid is relatief, niet absoluut Bij zelf opgebouwd vermogen: - is het juridisch van jou - zonder herverdeling - geen beleidsrisico binnen een fondsstructuur Dat is een fundamenteel verschil. 5. We creëren een single point of failure (en dat is riskant) Door steeds meer mensen richting pensioenfondsen te duwen, doen we iets wat elke belegger normaal zou afraden: concentratie i.p.v. diversificatie. Enorm veel oudedagsvermogen zit in een beperkt aantal fondsen. Met vergelijkbare strategieën. Sterk blootgesteld aan dezelfde markten, zoals Amerikaanse aandelen en obligaties. Bij een grote externe schok (en die komen er altijd) kan het hele systeem tegelijk geraakt worden. Ook als de dekkingsgraad vandaag "gezond" lijkt. Tot slot Pensioensparen is één route. Voor sommige mensen past die prima. Maar hij past niet voor heel Nederland. Veel Nederlanders willen en kunnen zelf verantwoordelijkheid nemen. Zij hebben flexibiliteit, zeggenschap en echte spreiding nodig. Niet nóg meer dwang en centralisatie.
