When I became a deer snack distributor 😄In the Salman Khan vs State of Rajasthan case, I had come across an interesting fact: The 1st postmortem report said the blackbucks had died from “over-eating.” The veterinary doctor who filed the report was later suspended. The 2nd examination confirmed the animals had indeed died of gun shots. --- Fast forward, I visited a #Bishnoi conservatory. We fed the rescued blackbucks, by hand. Blink for a second and the food vanished in quick, nibbles. These animals are fast and alert. They chew fast, move fast. Graze – Run – Leap – Repeat. Speed is their superpower. They are the fastest land animal after the cheetah. I was told, #blackbucks can eat a lot, but they never overeat like we humans do at a buffet. Because if they did, they wouldn’t be able to do their thing. Graze. Run. Leap. Repeat. I tell you field research has its fun moments 😊 #Bishnoi #blackbuck #khejri
