@EddyWax True, if politics were a „one-off game“ but it is a repeated game, only the relevant thresholds change, depending on the applicable procedure. And there might be procedures where we do not talk about two-thirds majority of votes cast representing a majority of the component MEPs.

@repasi Fine. But dissatisfaction is only relevant insofar as it can affect things. And even if the S&D does not vote "no" - I still don't believe you would bring down the Commission as you have too much to lose. So it doesn't mean much!

@repasi Tough one. I don't think it's fair to compare all those votes equally, precisely because the vote on Thursday is as you say, largely about support for the far-right, and not about support for von der Leyen/the Commission - like the 2 previous.

@EddyWax Wouldn’t say so; the vote on Thursday will be about supporting the Far Right, not about supporting the Commission. Which story would you write if there is 401 votes for VDL on 18/07/2024, 370 for her Commission on 27/11/2024, and let’s say 350 votes against the motion of censure?

Conservatives are playing with fire. They should not confuse competitiveness with the wild west of tech billionaires! Instead of focusing on unbridled deregulation, they should work to ensure people have decent wages and quality jobs. @repasi
