This Memorial Day and every day, we remember the fallen heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. We are forever grateful.

Facts matter. Using the traveling public as test subjects is not how we determine whether or not heavier trucks are more dangerous. We know that heavier trucks have higher crash rates, and we must not sacrifice public safety for the sake of expediency.

We have to view this attack on the Southern Poverty Law Center for what it is: an Authoritarian’s attempt to silence law firms, universities, comedians, news outlets, protesters, and public servants who disagree with this Administration by choking off their source of funds.

For decades, MAGA Republicans have systematically chipped away at the impartiality of our Supreme Court. They have already delegitimized our judiciary, yet they now stand before the American people pretending to be guardians of judicial integrity. Today’s blatant attempt to rewrite history would be laughable if the consequences were not so dangerous for our democracy.

Black athletes have helped build college athletics into one of the most powerful and profitable industries in American life. Institutions that profit from Black talent and Black communities have a responsibility to stand with those communities when their fundamental rights are under attack. Silence in the face of injustice is not neutrality — it is complicity. Our statement unanimously opposing the SCORE Act:

With Trump’s war of choice in the Middle East, and rising prices at home, including the skyrocketing cost of healthcare, Republicans have turned their backs on the American people they are supposed to represent.

I was proud to carry on the tradition that the late great Congressman, and my friend, Donald Payne Jr. started by hosting the Build America Roundtable. It was inspiring to be a part of this gathering of transportation experts from around the country who are all committed to building on what our predecessors left us to strengthen our infrastructure and build opportunity for everyone.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act. Today, I am pushing my TERM Act, which would create term limits for Supreme Court Justices, and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.

Today’s 6 to 3 MAGA Supreme Court decision in Louisiana v Callais hurtles the precept of democracy for all backwards, in the same way as the equally egregious 1896 Louisiana case of Plessy v. Ferguson, which legalized Jim Crow racism.
