@mmeJen When I was a mgr, I'd spend the two weeks trying to convince good employees to stay. Bad employees I'd dismiss immediately. The only reason I'd let someone stay 1 week is if they were bad, but it benefitted the organization in some way.

My son recently gave his 2 week notice at a retail job he is working. The manager told him his last day would be in a week and that 2 week notice is not customary in retail. My son is pissed because he was counting on the week’s wages. I’m surprised. Is this standard now?
