We discussed the importance of funding for fire stations and the critical health and safety of our firefighters and EMTs. There has been no clear evidence from the intelligence community that Iran presented an imminent threat to the United States. The Trump Administration is spending roughly $1 billion dollars a day on this conflict, funding which could have been used here at home.

During her closed-door “briefing” to Oversight Committee Members last night, Attorney General Pam Bondi could not explain why her Justice Department has failed to pursue a case against Epstein’s co-conspirators.  Given that she has repeatedly given untruthful statements on the Epstein case and continually obstructed our investigation, she needs to comply with our bipartisan subpoena and testify under oath.

Yesterday, Members of the House Oversight Committee received a closed-door briefing from Attorney General Pam Bondi. Due to her lack of transparency and truthfulness over the past year, she needs to testify before our committee under oath and in front of the American people.

250 years ago today our ancestors, who were farmers, laborers, shopkeepers, merchants and dockworkers threw out the shackles of rules by the divine right of Kings and drove the imperial fleet from Boston Harbor. Aided by the intrepid artillery officer Henry Knox who dragged 60 cannons 300 miles from Fort Ticonderaga the colonists chose Dorchester Heights in South Boston as the place where they would take their stand for Liberty. Today we commemorated the restoration of the monument at Dorchester Heights funded by the bipartisan effort of Congress in the Great American Outdoors Act and are grateful to the magnificent craftsmanship of the men and women of the Massachusetts Building Trades and the wise stewardship of the National Park Service, keeping faith with the spirit of 1776. Happy Evacuation Day!

Our 8th Congressional District in Massachusetts is among the most Irish in America - so today “everyone is Irish” as we celebrate the contributions of the Irish diaspora to the richness of our American experience. Happy St. Patrick’s Day! ☘️

We had an entertaining breakfast hosted by Senator Nick Collins and a huge St. Patrick’s Day parade - probably our biggest ever - led by Colonel Tim Murphy. Proud to march with the United States Marine Corps Paris Island band - sincere thanks to Randy Greeley, Brian Yannovich, and the South Boston Allied War Veterans, as well as our @bostonpolice, @BostonFire, @BOSTON_EMS, and @MassStatePolice, and all of the many marching bands and Veterans groups who made the 250th Anniversary celebration such a special event! Happy St. Patrick’s Day! ☘️

This morning, I joined  friends and neighbors at the Tom and Eddie Butler St. Patrick’s Senior Salute in #southie! We enjoyed great company, music, and dancing. It was great to be with @CityOfBoston Mayor Wu, @ErinforBoston, @EdforBoston, @juliaforboston, @david_biele, the Butler Family, Clerk Powers, and the Woods School of Irish Dance for this great event!

Since taking office, President Trump has launched a 'Golden Age of Fraud.’  While he and his family rake in at least $1.2 billion from their crypto company, World Liberty Financial, President Trump has systematically dismantled the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, eliminated the Securities and Exchange Commission’s crypto crimes enforcement unit, and dropped nearly all their enforcement actions against bad actors, leaving American consumers vulnerable to scams and fraudulent activity, which are becoming increasingly deceptive and harmful.

Given that the Trump Administration has still not agreed to commonsense reforms to maximize community safety, it is clear that ICE should not serve as a “key part” of security for the 2026 World Cup in Boston. At our Oversight Committee hearing, Minnesota @GovTimWalz strongly agreed - with our City expected to welcome more than 3 million international visitors and teams representing Iraq, Morocco, France, and other nations, our professional state and local law enforcement agencies are well-equipped and trained to lead the way on security for this historic event.

After promising the American people that the Epstein files were sitting on her desk more than one year ago, Attorney General Pam Bondi has done nothing but delay and obstruct our bipartisan oversight investigation into the heinous crimes committed by Jeffrey Epstein and his associates. At Oversight Committee today, I voted YES on a motion to subpoena Attorney General Bondi that passed and will force her to answer our questions about the Department of Justice’s mishandling of the Epstein case.

It was great to meet with 30 high school students from Oliver Ames High School this afternoon. These students from Easton came to Washington to learn about history and civic engagement. We had a great discussion on the steps of the Capitol to talk about current events, my role as their Federal Representative, and to answer their insightful questions. Our future is bright!
