The Administration’s decision to gut the Forest Service ahead of a severe wildfire season, losing critical AND regional expertise, puts Oregonians and the PNW in danger. We’ll keep you posted and continue discussing the plan for wildfire response and coordination.

I’m heading up to vote on the War Powers Resolution.   This war is unpopular among Democrats, Republicans and Independents and I hope my Republican colleagues will listen to their constituents and do the right thing.

A collective bargaining agreement is a contract and AFGE fought hard to achieve these rights for workers. This is just one more example of the Trump administration undermining the rights of union members while trying to convince Americans that they stand for working people. This #TaxDay is a reminder of how our system has been rigged against workers. The Trump admin & anti-worker politicians gutted health care & food assistance for working families to fund tax breaks for the wealthy. This isn’t a resource problem. It’s a fairness problem.

I joined my colleagues from Oregon to introduce a resolution celebrating the hard work and achievements of six great Oregonians, two Paralympians and four Olympians. Their passion and dedication to their sport are inspiring to everyone.  And a special shoutout to alpine skier @RaviDrugan from Eugene, a member of Oregon Adaptive Sports and a former LCC Titan!

The ALERT Act just passed the House thanks to the hard work of many people, especially the families of the DCA crash victims. We’ll keep working to enact the strongest possible aviation safety requirements.

As a Roman Catholic, I found the President’s unhinged attack on Pope Leo XIV abhorrent. This came after Good Friday services were cancelled by Pete Hegseth and a high level Pentagon official made a veiled threat of using military force to replace the leader of the Catholic Church. Our Constitution guarantees freedom of religion and separation of church and state. For a U.S. President to threaten the head of the Church because he preaches a message of peace is ethically, morally and constitutionally wrong. At what point will my colleagues say enough is enough?

Whether someone is a Democrat, a Republican or the President of the United States, if they sexually assault someone they will be held accountable. End of story.

It’s important that Congress shows up to try and do our jobs because we can’t rely on Mike Johnson. I will continue to show up and speak out against this immoral war.

It was great to join Superintendent Corden and UCC President Pokrandt for a tour of Umpqua Community College’s new Medical Careers Hub and Welcome Center. These investments will strengthen healthcare education and help set students up for success.

First, I’m relieved that we have a two-week ceasefire with the Strait opened. That is positive. However, we need permanent peace and not a President buying time till he takes another motion to declare war or threaten genocide. Invoke the 25th Amendment. The President is threatening genocide and acting in a completely unhinged manner. This cannot be normalized.

Yep, this is where we’re at right now. @SpeakerJohnson needs to call us back to DC so we can actually do our jobs.

The President is too unstable to serve. The 25th Amendment needs to be invoked to stop the President from doing further damage to the safety and security of the US and the world. We should be called back to DC now to vote on the War Power's Resolution to stop the war.
