BREAKING: Judge orders @DeptVetAffairs to restore AFGE collective bargaining agreement covering more than 320,000 VA employees.

Flying the line this week, I'm seeing firsthand — TSA agents showing up every day, no paycheck, no end in sight, balancing the weight of daily life with the responsibility of keeping our skies secure. Travelers: make sure to thank them. Congress: they've done their job. Do yours.

This past weekend on #PoliticsNation, I spoke with Mac Johnson of the AFGE TSA Council 100 about the growing crisis facing TSA workers. More than 100,000 DHS employees have now missed a full paycheck, with some TSA officers receiving just dollars after deductions while still expected to keep our skies safe. We’re already seeing the impact with long airport lines and staffing shortages. Workers should never be used as pawns in political fights. Congress and the administration must pass a budget and pay these essential workers before this crisis deepens. #MSNOW

"[TSA] Officers come up to me every day and they ask me... 'What can I do with not having the ability to pay my rent?' or put food in my fridge." George Borek, TSA Officer and Union Steward @AFGENational, reacts to the real-life impact of the partial DHS shutdown. #tsa

'They don't have money for daycare, childcare, gas, food, and many other things as they've almost went a full month without a full paycheck... The workforce is sick and tired of being political pawns in the middle of these games.' TSA agent Johnny Jones joins @jaketapper to explain the struggles TSA agents are facing as they don't get paid during the partial government shutdown.

ABC News' Linsey Davis spoke with Cameron Cochems, Idaho regional vice president for the American Federation of Government Employees, which represents TSA workers, about the toll the government shutdown is taking on officers who have now missed their first full paycheck.

The Department of Homeland Security is encouraging Federal Emergency Management Agency employees who are furloughed due to the partial government shutdown to apply for unemployment, according to internal documents obtained by ABC News. abcnews.link/oqcV9ho

Collective bargaining is the strongest tool workers have to create a fair workplace, and the restoration of these rights is a huge win for federal workers & our veterans. I thank @AFGENational for their commitment to civil servants. We’ll keep working to counter the Admin’s attacks on the federal workforce. afge.org/publication/co…
