👏 FULL PROGRAMME RELEASE 👏 We are extremely excited to announce or full programme for this years festival, which will kick off in 2 weeks!!! We'll have sessions covering a whole range of socialist topics, always with an aim of how can we organise to win. Covering party politics with the Greens and Your Party, fighting far right extremism locally & globally and looking at the state of Trade Union organising 100 years on from the General Strike. And be sure to make our closing session, where we will confront the biggest issue of our time, rising imperialism. We'll discuss how we can and must organise against it as socialists and how YOU can do it - for a liberated Palestine, Iran and and for the whole international working class ✊️ 🇵🇸 ⚒️ We'll be joined by a whole range of organisers - rank-and-file trade unionists, authors, academics, and leading activists in their fields - as well as organisations from up and down the country including: Palestine Youth Movement (@pymbritain), Greens Organise (@greensorganise), The Bristol Cable (@thebristolcable), Bristol Apartheid-Free Zone (@bristolafz), Workers For a Free Palestine (@workers4pal), Iskra Books (@read_iskrabooks), local union branches, and many more! All of this comes with not only FREE CHILDCARE ALL DAY for the mini-Marxists out there (all ages welcome!), but for the first time this year a full youth programme aimed at 11-16 year olds interested in left wing and socialist politics. 16s and under all get in free for the festival (but still need to "buy" a ticket on headfirst!) As well as hours of amazing educational content, we've got great evening entertainment lined up. We'll be kicking off on the Friday night with socialist Shark Tank (i.e. Marx Tank) and on Saturday we have a whole evening of entertainment lined up - a pub quiz, sea shanties workshop, bands, and DJ's late into the night. Full details of the programming and sessions can be found on our website: bristoltransformed.co.uk/festival/brist… Festival Tickets: hdfst.uk/e145672 Afterparty Tickets (needed for Saturday evening entertainment): hdfst.uk/e150198 Bristol Transformed is entirely volunteer run - all money goes back into socialist organising in our city and beyond. If you want to know how disingenuous people are they're on here today clutching their pearls about Bristol Apartheid-Free Zone, a peaceful campaign about talking to your neighbours, when a bunch of actual far-right thugs besieged a pub in Bristol literally yesterday

BREAKING: Ive been told that Damien Egan conducted a visit to Brunel Academy today (The school he was asked not to visit last yr). He was apparently accompanied by a riot van. Ofsted found the school "inclusive" +"tolerance and respect for the diversity of modern Britain"... MAD

This article sheds light on why parents and teachers were so against MP Damien Egan, a trenchant supporter of genocidal Israel, visiting their Bristol school. Arms firms are crawling all over Bristol schools, hawking a future in the war industry to them. thebristolcable.org/2025/11/reveal…

NEW: Ofsted finds "no evidence" to back concerns of political bias at a Bristol school that postponed a visit from a Jewish MP. This is despite Bridget Phillipson launching a review into anti-semitism in schools following the concerns. tes.com/magazine/news/…

Everyone correctly notes that excluding non-Jewish victims is a form of denial, but so is the "never compare" demand, because it treats the Holocaust essentially as mythology (or worse, Intellectual Property) rather than a series of actual, material events that can be repeated.

it took ~40 years after camps were liberated for west germany to formally recognise genocide of roma + sinti people despite them being classified as ‘enemies of the race based state’ by nazis + 100s of 1000s (if not more) slaughtered. this statement is an insult to their memory.

I travelled on an @eduint trip to Palestine. But we never got there. We were detained for 5+ hours, grilled and refused entry by Israeli forces. It was intimidating and a violation of our rights. It is nothing compared to what Palestinians go through every day under occupation.

Odd to me that we're talking so much about banning social media for under-16s and banning smartphones in schools but not about the fact schools are teaching and giving so much homework to do on screens when it is completely unnecessary for the subject in question I recently visited an 'Outstanding' primary school and they were proud of having a massive permanent screen in the Reception class – for 4-year-olds! – and said the kids could play 'educational' games on it during break time I don't want my kid on a screen during break time! It's hard enough to limit screen time at home – we should be able to rely upon schools not to make that even worse

Predictably, the Guardian is stoking the outrage machine over a Bristol school cancelling a visit by local Labour MP Damien Egan. Like other media, the paper is duping readers by suggesting this is evidence of "antisemitism". Egan is Jewish. In fact, the cancellation has nothing to do with Egan's Jewishness. The visit was called off after mounting complaints from Bristol teachers and parents, who oppose genocide and don't want impressionable young minds exposed to someone who defends a state committing the ultimate crime against humanity. In other words, unlike the Labour party and media like the Guardian, Bristol teachers and parents actually have a moral backbone. Bristol constituents know much more than Guardian readers about Egan, thanks to their independent local paper the Bristol Cable. Egan is vice-chair of Labour Friends of Israel – that's the same Israel currently committing genocide in Gaza. He went on an Israeli-sponsored visit to Israel shortly after the genocide began. And he has taken money from major pro-Israel lobbyists like Trevor Chinn. Steve Reed, the communities secretary who made the matter public, threatened that those behind the cancellation "will be held to account" and that "you cannot have people with those kinds of attitudes teaching our children". No, those are exactly the kind of people Bristolians want teaching their children: those who understand that genocide is unequivocally wrong. Egan is not being rebuffed because he's Jewish. Like other compromised MPs who support the UK's collusion in genocide, he's being rebuffed because he's a scumbag.

From ‘colour your own F-35’ to missile simulators, arms companies are promoting STEM careers in schools, but obscuring their role in the bloody global arms trade. Teachers, union reps, and campaign groups are pushing back. #Bristol #News #Journalism #Militarisation #Schools
