The factual problem with this analysis is that Memphis and Shelby County are majority Black. The redistricting plan breaks up the Black vote in those jurisdictions in the name of being anti-racist. Not sure about the “shared values” of one of the most economically challenged parts of the state with the wealthiest.

Having a minority-majority congressional district is racist at its core because it deliberately engineers congressional maps around skin color rather than around shared ideas, values, or individual merit. Carving up voters into racial blocs as if their pigmentation determines their political destiny is truly bigoted. This practice assumes that Black, or Brown voters cannot meaningfully compete or win in districts where they are a minority. That is literally institutionalizing the very racial stereotypes it claims to combat. That mentality treats citizens as interchangeable representatives of their specific ethnic group instead of sovereign individuals. Seeing people first and foremost for their color is fundamentally racist: it discards the color-blind ideal that judged a person by the content of their character, not the shade of their skin. How can this not perpetuate division under the guise of equity? How can it not erode the principle that in a free republic every vote should count the same regardless of race? x.com/MarcoFoster_/s…

Wore my Trump flag as a cape during the special session and the Democrats started screaming “racist” at me on sight. They don’t know me. Never met me. Just saw the flag and had a meltdown. That’s the modern Democrat Party in a nutshell. They smear anyone who stands with President Trump. They’ve called him every name in the book for years. Now they’re doing it to everyday Americans who refuse to bow down. It’s their only move when they can’t win on policy or truth. They lecture us about “democracy” while they gerrymandered for decades, cheered the 2020 steal, and now cry foul when maps don’t go their way. It’s all an act. The single largest form of theft in America is wage theft. $50 billion a year are stolen from American workers.
If a billionaire amasses their wealth by underpaying their full-time workers so severely that they must rely on food assistance and government programs to survive, then no, that wealth was not earned by one individual - it was a wealth transfer subsidized by underpaid American workers and the public who get stuck with the bill for large corporations free-riding off our systems.
The point is less about individual morality. It’s more about how our current economic reality of shattering inequality rewards screwing over workers and exploiting essential systems at scale.
We’re talking monopoly power. Rent-seeking. Wage theft. Profiteering. Stock buybacks. Destabilizing housing markets. Companies using SNAP/EBT to underwrite their wages. Massive government subsidies or contracts to corporations following lobbying and dark money in politics with little to no oversight or accountability.
Some people get enraged that I draw attention to this. That’s on them. Let them call me shrill, dumb, inexperienced, girly, uneducated - these folks will say anything to distract from or undercut the truth that working people are getting screwed, and giving people a fair shake means we must have a grown conversation about reigning in abuse of power.
