@campbellclaret ‘Zelenskyy now deserves far greater support from Europe’. What Alistair means by this, is to send your children to die in a trench 2000 miles from home to stop Russia from invading the rest of Europe.

What fantastic news from Hungary. Proof that if you stand up to it right wing kleptocratic populist authoritarianism can be beaten. Orban will now flee somewhere with his wealth. But this is more than a bad night for him. It is a bad night for Putin who as in Moldova spent a fortune trying to rig it. It is a bad night for Trump. It is a bad night for Vance and Rubio who believed that their mere presence in Budapest would swing the vote Orban’s way. They helped Magyar! . It is a bad night for Farage the AfD and Le Pen because it shows that when their brand of politics is exposed to serious opposition and scrutiny it collapses. Magyar is far from the perfect leader but my God he deserves all the congratulations coming his way for ousting Orban and showing how it can be done. He now has the tough job of dismantling the corrupt systems and bodies installed over 16 years. The people of Hungary deserve our thanks for showing these people can be beaten. And Zelensky now deserves far greater support from Europe.

You've been lied by global media once again. The new Tisza party is against immigration as Orban was. Hungarians saw the immigration chaos and disharmony in post-colonialist countries enought ! FYI Hungary had no colony, so why should they share the same fate and follow EU immigration policy ?

Hungary just made a catastrophic mistake. Péter Magyar and his Tisza Party have handed the country over to Brussels. Mark my words: Hungary will now become Europe’s new immigration super-center. Open borders, mass migrant inflows, and zero protection for our people — exactly what the globalist elites ordered.Every single economic gain Viktor Orbán delivered — record-low unemployment, family subsidies that actually worked, energy independence, tax cuts that fueled growth, and a sovereign economy that didn’t kneel to Brussels — is about to be torched. 16 years of putting Hungarians first, gone. Welcome back to EU puppet status, skyrocketing costs, and demographic replacement. This isn’t “democracy winning.” This is Hungary losing.

We already knew Richard Tice aggressively avoided tax. Now we’re told his company just plain failed to pay tax that was legally due. For someone supposedly in public service he goes to extreme lengths to avoid paying his fair share towards public services thetimes.com/uk/politics/ar…

The devil will be in the detail. If they claim to be preparing the country for a war-readiness footing, yet persist with unfunded welfarism, continue to live beyond their fiscal means, fail to control migration, restrict North Sea development, keep the fracking ban, prioritise rewilding over production, pressure farmers to sell up, accelerate deindustrialisation, and cling to Net Zero targets, they are doing nothing of the sort. And that’s before we even talk about re-arming, restoring patriotism, and rebuilding social cohesion. It’s going to take more than a few press releases and snazzy TikTok videos with the Prime Minister in military fatigues.
Deborah Haynes@haynesdeborah

EXCLUSIVE: The UK is preparing a new version of a major plan to ready the whole nation - from the military and police to hospitals and industry - for the transition to war, the head of the armed forces has told Sky News. Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton said the updated iteration of what was called the Government War Book would require people to think differently about resilience, drawing on lessons from the Cold War but "in a modern context, with a modern society, with modern infrastructure". In an interview on Friday at the London Defence Conference, he also revealed that a threat by the UK to seize ships that are part of Russia's murky "shadow fleet" is already having an effect, even though British forces have yet to board any vessels. The chief of the defence staff said the mere knowledge that London was ready to target a sanctioned tanker was forcing Moscow to escort them or divert them away from UK waters. However, shadow fleet ships have still been spotted off the coastline without being stopped. Asked whether an actual boarding operation was imminent, Air Chief Marshal Knighton said: "Be in no doubt. We are ready." You can read about the full interview here ⬇️ news.sky.com/story/uk-prepa…

Yes, Earth’s climate has changed many times. But that tells you nothing about what’s causing this change. It’s like saying “people have died for millions of years, therefore your stab wound isn’t from a knife.” Climate scientists call this the non‑sequitur fallacy past natural changes don’t explain present human‑driven ones. And experts have already dismissed Plimer’s framing as misleading and ridiculous Plimer’s argument boils down to this: ‘Because climate changed naturally before humans existed, humans can’t change it now.’ That’s not science; that’s like saying forest fires can only start from lightning, so arson is impossible. factcheck.afp.com/doc.afp.com.33…

Geologist Prof. Ian Plimer: "In the complete history of planet Earth, we have had millions of climate changes." "And not one of these... was driven by a change in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere." "We see no record of carbon dioxide driving climate in the past, and there is therefore no logical reason to think that climate change in the present is driven by changes in carbon dioxide."

Strawman argument. Drilling in the North Sea doesn’t stop you building a nuclear power plant or a wind farm for that matter. It does stop you importing higher emission gas from abroad. Why does Bob want to do that? He’s clearly a climate vandal. Don’t be like Bob.
