Makes me feel sick seeing McFarlane and his cronies standing on the touchline, absolute con artists

@WakoCD_ Amad’s last season was better than anything either of those two have ever produced. Players have peaks and troughs in their careers and Amad should be given some leeway based on what’s he previously done for us. Think people’s memories are too short

What I’d also say is that there are players who’ve had a similar (or even better) season to Amad who’ve faced significantly more criticism— Madueke & Neto first to come to mind.

I disagree— value is in his work-rate OOP, but outside of that, the bar is low. - Definitely cannot play both sides. - Tactically disciplined? Yes. - Inside/outside— ish. We’ve got bigger issues than Amad, but his moments of quality have been few & far between.
EBL@EBL2017

Amad is an excellent footballer. United fans must relax. Saka-lite. Not as good, but a very valuable profile. A perfect complementary piece to Bruno, Cunha, Sesko, and Mbeumo, in fact. Can play both sides, tactically disciplined, inside/outside. You need this type of player.

@PaddyKeoghAF @RedIrishDub Ibragimov has had hype for years now and I don’t really get it. He’s never even been the best player at u18 level

@AATalksBall world, expect higher levels of critique. Ultimately, he’s a functional footballer who is nowhere near his peers that he’s often compared to

@AATalksBall The point is that a player like him is that he’s fundamentally a water carrier for better players. The players you’re comparing him to were never considered the best in their position or labelled best MF in their leagues. If you’re going to be called one of the best MFs in the…

@on99741396 @j0nesy78 @Talhaa10_ He’s also got the most open play chances created in the league by a country mile. Bruno is the obvious POTY and it’s not even really close

declan rice isn’t better than elliot anderson btw. anderson’s the better all round player. better in tight spaces, better passer, creates more chances.. rice has the edge on set pieces, that’s it. wait till he comes city, you’ll see how anderson wipes the floor with rice

@htomufc @7verygood You can’t expect good attacking performances from your players when you’re putting these kinds of restraints on their game

@htomufc @7verygood themselves by not having natural width from the left back. For Saka, the physical load put on him is genuinely malpractice. Meant to be the main outlet offensively whilst being an auxiliary full back out of possession whilst also playing every minute of every game

Not defending it in the slightest but just caught the Eze goal last night, has anyone ever thought that the majority of the ‘marginalisation’ of Arsenal’s football ie. set pieces & routines is mostly down to a lack of attacking quality? Outside of Eze, Havertz & Saka, the majority of the rest are pretty mediocre. City have beautiful patterns between the front 4 but mostly because Cherki is a wizard, Doku is one of the best box enterers I’ve seen, Haaland’s a generational striker & Semenyo has insane talents for a wide attacking forward. Don’t get me wrong, the majority of it is an Arsenal/Arteta/Berta issue but can’t help but think they’ve needed a superstar attacker for 4 years and the rigidity & ‘boringness’ argument is largely because of the players he’s working with. Idk, just a thought I’ve had for a few weeks.

@saundzo @Armzinnho Blows my mind that he’s worked in professional football. A knobhead like him getting a top gig at a pro football club should give anyone aspiring to work in the industry some hope

@Armzinnho Arselicker. Exxagerator. Commentator. Educational value is at the bare of surface level. His projections & comparisons of players are weak. His team based analysis is lead by the intention of 1) being 1st & 2)getting clicks; which skews any actual value. & hes a bellend.

@ChazArsenal @kianthequark @ftblrk So effectively you expect the team to attack with 4 players? 4 CBs, a DM and a number 8 who doesn’t help pick up the creative burden? You’ve been corrupted by Arteta’s football if you think that’s a reasonable way to go moving forward

@reub70 @kianthequark @ftblrk The 6 is more for the offering in possession stuff. The 8 is more about the engine, box to box, all action etc. stuff which Rice excels at.

Imo Rice is a 6 in a 433 player if in a team who wants to play out, drops into the backline in buildup to let the 8s receive and dictate the midfield while fullbacks push forward and he can play some long diagonals from backline.

@ChazArsenal @kianthequark @ftblrk What’s the point? What does he offer in possession as an 8? Isn’t brave enough with the ball to play that position

@reub70 @kianthequark @ftblrk It’s not, it’s pretty easy. Stick Rice in the 8 while he has his engine & legs. Sorted.

@zirkwood_ Says it all that pretty much all of the praise Rice gets is for stuff he does when he literally doesn’t have the ball at his feet. He’s a CB masquerading as a fucking midfielder. If he was a quiet lad with no personality, he gets nowhere near the same amount of credit

@IanM1st bro it’s horrible, these kids aren’t guaranteed senior careers and need as much opportunity to individually push/develop themselves as possible… and they’re being told to ignore acres of the space to recieve the ball in so the GK can walk with the ball? Not for me
