In Britain shops are security tagging bars of Dairy Milk now.
We’ve reached the point of lawlessness where chocolate needs anti theft protection.
At what point do we tackle the root issue?
@KOSTerru@robprogressive That may be but the percentage remains the same....and they're raking in approx an extra 20 million a day in revenue. That's an extra 20 on top of what they're already making. That 20m should be back in public pockets via a reduction in fuel duty and tax.
@robprogressive They haven’t put it up though have they?
It’s due in September & if we have the same crisis, created by the USA, then it will probably be delayed
Why don’t you blame the orange blob & his #EpsteinWar ?
Easiest way to help the cost of living crisis & soaring prices is cut fuel tax
You pay 50% (80p) in tax on a litre of fuel
Instead the government INCREASE tax on fuel in the hardest times, like now
Then they blame the petrol stations who make 7p on a litre while they take 11x as much
@higgyboson Question is...where's the blockades, where's the trucker protests, where's the UK's fucking back bone!!! Make the government sit up and take notice!!!
One of my customers runs a family haulage business.
6 weeks ago their monthly diesel cost was running at a average of £32,000 per month.
Today it's £41,000.
That's over £108,000 more per year added to their running costs.
And about £59,000 of it goes straight to the government in additional tax.
They're already paying about £200,000 per year in fuel taxes.
@2147mill I feel fortunate enough to be able to put 2k into an ISA, never mind the 20k. I'll never get to that limit. Always looking at the finances incase I have to dip into it too. 🙆
£20,000 in a Stocks & Shares ISA every year for 20 years.
At 10% average return = £1,146,000.
Every penny of that growth?
Zero tax.
No capital gains tax.
No dividend tax.
Nothing.
The government built the most powerful wealth building tool in UK history.
Most people are leaving it completely empty.
Are you maxing yours?
The Scottish border is just 4.5 hours & 272 miles away from my village in England & I have never been.
I have never been to Scotland🤦♀️. I need to change this.
But I am not alone. Brits see any journey over an hour to be unnecessary & hardship (and expensive in petrol terms).
Fuel massively increased
Roads narrowed to make way for cycle lanes which are empty
Potholes everywhere
Speed limits reduced
Car park charges increased massively
Who else believes they are trying to stop us driving our cars?
@MelissaKs87@Tesco I think to support the war effort people should be consciously trying to drive less. There’s soldiers out there literally putting their lives on the line and you are complaining about dear petrol? Do you WANT Iran to win?
Just seen my local @tesco have increased the price of their diesel to £1.99 a litre!! It’s increasing daily..you’ll be out pricing the drivers soon enough!!!
This Easter, you're paying more for less chocolate.
Every major Easter egg brand has shrunk their product while raising the price.
Here's how bad it actually is 🧵
@NotFarLeftAtAll Happens a lot in my local Lidl, guy wipes the shelf clean of sourdough loaves and mozzarella cheese, amongst other massive bulk items then takes it to his restaurant and charges an absolute fortune.
@BethanyCherisse That is chronic stress honey.
Get out of town for 48 hours.
Phone off.
Hike, swim, walk, sit in cafes- whatever relaxes you. Preferably in nature.
