If this is the response of Ethereum core devs to application developers talking about their pain in bringing dApps to market, then the EVM is truly FUCKED. The EF not only has lost touch with what people want, they are actively working *AGAINST* the people who consume block space

@Tudmotu Right, because it's impossible to do anything meaningful onchain without using 16.78M gas in one tx. Not sure you serious. Also, contract deployment can even exceed the tx gas limit with glamsterdam.

@bread_ @_jhunsaker are you actually claiming the transaction workload doesn’t matter in gas/second if the gas cost of the transaction is the same? cmon bruh state access workloads are well known to be slower vs equivalent gas tx of non state access

It's the peak throughput from stress test on Mainnet. Was ~3.7 gas/s for ~7hr without price movement. For all other chains it's block capacity (gas limit / block time). So for some chains w/ eip1559 pricing it's being charitable because price hikes kick in before then. Not sure why transfers would all of a sudden game gas throughput. TPS, sure, but measuring gas is explicitly to avoid having by measuring bandwidth. Now, there's still some wiggle room with it through opcode pricing differences that makes it not TRUE 1:1 but it's pretty dang close (would wager <5% differential). Anyways, the Monad number is great. Is that sustained and without price increases? Curious if you guys have 1559-like pricing too

Let's play a game. "How Many Polymarkets (can your chain house)?" howmanypolymarkets.bread.build
Josh@devjoshstevens

This is my 3rd week as VP of Engineering DeFi at @Polymarket , and I'm going to be straight: the traction @Polymarket has seen has massively outpaced our infrastructure, and we haven't done nearly enough to scale to keep up. I hear you, and fixing this is our entire focus. We're a major company now, and we need to engineer like one. Here's exactly what we're doing: - Onchain data latency. We're working on making this near-instant so the experience is incredible. - Chain migration. We need more block space, cheaper gas and much smaller block times so settlement is instant. - Transactions are getting cancelled. We understand this is one of the most frustrating issues right now, and we have a complete fix coming very soon. - Massive focus on the website to make it faster, more responsive, and with better UX. - We added observability everywhere. Proper alerting so we catch issues ourselves, market makers should not be the ones telling us something is down. That's been unacceptable, and we know it. - E2e tests throughout, starting with the CLOB, so issues get caught in CI before anything ships. - CLOBv2 is not a rewrite. It won't improve performance or stability on its own; it's an upgrade that unlocks us to move fast right after. We'll do better with communication next time. - We are rebuilding the CLOB from the ground up. Most important thing we're doing. Without it, we can't be the best DeFi exchange in the world. We know it, we're on it, it's mission critical. - Unified TypeScript SDK for all APIs, which is shipping soon. - Unified API. One WS connection for everything, with a schema that's actually readable. - New Polymarket contract in the works that unlocks things that are simply impossible on the current protocol. - New hires: Head of QA Automation, Head of Dev Tooling, Head of Internal Tooling, Head of Data Engineering. - Smaller, dedicated teams. Fewer focus points per person, clearer ownership. People do what they're good at and are accountable for it. - Working closely with customer support to give them real debugging tools so any user issue gets properly diagnosed, not lost. - Proper communication with marketing and market makers so everyone knows what's coming and when, and MM can submit feature requests with a clear path to get them into engineering and shipped. - Working with 4 security teams daily to ensure we're super secure and that funds are always safe. - Perps incoming. Brand new contracts and a backend built from scratch in Rust. We're proud of this one. - A lot of other fixes are running in parallel right now. Starting next Friday, I will be posting weekly engineering updates. I joined because I genuinely believe in what @Polymarket is trying to do. @shayne_coplan built this so the world has somewhere to go to find out what's actually going to happen, not what the media thinks, not what a pundit says, but what thousands of people are willing to put money on. But right now, our engineering isn't living up to that. We've let people down, and I'm not going to dress that up. I came here to fix it, and that's exactly what we're going to do. The next few months are going to speak for themselves. Stay with us.

We flew the Nebula team to SF, drove 2 hours to a cabin, spent this week on one goal: Ship months of product in days. This wasn't an offsite, it was hack week. No agendas, no normal work, just crazy output. Here's what we built: -Mini Apps: embedded apps agents control -Public Agents: discover, share, clone agents -Nebula Advisor Model: 3.3x cheaper, same perf -CLI: nebula in the terminal -Local Device: nebula runs your computer -Desktop App: always-on nebula -Workspaces: spaces for your agents -Multiplayer: invite people, collaborate -Voice Mode: talk to your agents Half are live, rest hitting soon. Still plenty to improve but this finally feels like the v1 we've been building toward.

I don't believe a single one of those "I'm running 20 Claude instances in parallel" posts. A single Claude code instance requires numerous amounts of back and forth to get it right, 20 means you're churning out complete slop that doesn't work.

many unconsciously make the choice of prioritizing wlb every moment you think about your family, kids, going on a hike, hanging out with friends, etc is time someone else is thinking about work and how to win read: solitude by anthony storr

1/ Controversial take: hard work is more important than smart work. It's a myth that we only have a few hours of good creative work per day. Train yourself to grind long hours first. You will surprise yourself. The work naturally become higher quality, less distracted.

nobody reads anymore if you read unsummarized, raw documentation, you are in the top 1% if someone writes a good technical article/thread and you read the whole thing, you are in the top 1% if you read novels (fiction), you are in the top 1%

examples of blockchain x privacy from my time in daml/canton ecosystem at @ASX include: - residential mortgage backed securities - customized visibility into various tranches - custodial account hierarchies - investors retain visibility into n sub custodians with hierarchical visibility

privacy on zones is built around payments. visibility is gated by token ownership but there's huge potential for granular, customized visibility controls around other financial primitives. but to do this requires evm and reth expertise, exactly the domain of my team at @conduitxyz . if you're interested in pioneering evm privacy usecases, dm me and i'll personally help you get from 0 to 1.
Conduit@conduitxyz

Privacy isn't a feature you bolt on, it's an architectural property that only works when the underlying chain infrastructure is built for it. @tempo Zones is exactly the kind of primitive enterprises have been waiting for, and we're excited to be building alongside the team.

hacky idea: have the skill ask the requesting agent to commit a +1 to a counter in the git repo on every usage. Discovery via prompt ppl can copy paste. Requires human context loading so suboptimal

Before I go build this thing I want to know if someone has a tool for this: When I start building a feature into a codebase I do this: - Start planning with Claude - Copy the plan over to codex and review - then some manual back and forth until me, codex, and claude agree on the plan Ideally i'd like a terminal view that just seemlessly shares the context to both agents somehow
