Don’t really care to describe myself. Don’t typically follow back. Just here to see what everyone else is talking about.

Let's pretend you're a young black lab named "Hank," and you're putting together your online dating profile. Which way are you going to go with your profile pic? Photo 1: Maybe more serious but still approachable? Or Photo 2: A fun-loving, tongue-out Tuesday sort of guy? #dogs

A simple message with big meaning: "I am somebody." We are grateful to Rev. Jesse Jackson for helping teach generations of children to believe in themselves and in one another. Thank you for being part of our neighborhood. 💛💚

🚨 UNREAL: An American citizen was followed by an unmarked car, boxed in, dragged from her vehicle, injured, and left in a parking lot after agents found her passport. She was on her way to pay rent and buy a birthday cake for her grandson. Torn rotator cuff. Concussion. Bruised ribs. No help. No explanation. This is happening to ordinary people. This is not “enforcement.” This is lawless violence.

@cmclymer @LizHighleyman Or it could be that the non-Atlantic audience is least likely to read it in good faith. Instead they read it looking for flaws.

@LizHighleyman So, in other words, the folks who needed to read this the least were the most likely to interpret it as fictional and not personal.

Something to think about as a health journalist. I read it as obviously fictional — & most of the Atlantic’s regular audience likely did too — but when something goes viral it gets out to different audiences with different reading levels, politics & expectations.

Ok. I’ve been thinking about this piece non-stop for a day now. I am a big fan of Liz Bruenig’s, and I am generally a grateful admirer of her work. But: I cannot believe this was published as “a reported essay”, and I think it’s extremely damaging both to journalism and to the pro-vax cause that The Atlantic made this choice. I am so deeply angry at all the administrations that failed Epstein‘s survivors. This should be the beginning of a larger conversation about how the FBI handles allegations of sexual assault, rape and sex trafficking. We need accountability and a thorough autopsy of everything that went wrong. We need public hearings

Question: Should the Democratic presidential candidate reevaluate military aid to Israel? AOC: This isn't just about a presidential election. The US has an obligation to uphold its own laws. Unconditional aid, no matter what one does, does not make sense. I think it enabled a genocide in Gaza, and I think that we have thousands of women and children dead that was completely avoidable.

When Kansas did a version of the SAVE Act, it purged around 40 ineligible voters - and stopped 31,000 legal citizens from registering to vote (12% of all applicants). That's 775 legal voters lost for every 1 ineligible voter. bipartisanpolicy.org/article/five-t…

does anyone honest actually believe that a voter ID law is going to stop married women from voting? Too many Democrats think that you can just lie when you have an unpopular position, rather than having any courage to call the Groups and tell them "no".

This is author Roald Dahl and his daughter, Olivia. Olivia died in 1962 from measles, when the virus infected her brain. The vaccine came out in 1963. MEASLES KILLS. VACCINES WORK. The antivax movement is POLITICAL, not scientific. VACCINATE YOUR KIDS.

We have received numerous credible reports of torture, killing, and inhumane treatment of detained individuals at the Camp East Montana migrant detention facility, located within Fort Bliss. We are demanding an independent investigation and public hearings by the House Committee on Homeland Security, Public Safety, and Veterans Affairs into the horrific conditions at the facility. #txlege

The Detroit-Windsor crossing handles over 25% of U.S.-Canada trade—and today that crossing is controlled by one billionaire family running a century-old bridge. That billionaire calls Trump’s Commerce Secretary, and hours later Trump attacks the new publicly-owned Gordie Howe bridge and threatens to block it from opening? It's corruption so flagrant it would be laughable if it weren't so damaging. Trump is selling out Michigan jobs for the same elites he claims to fight, and Mike Rogers is cheering him on—calling it 'the right thing' to block a bridge built by thousands of union workers and owned by the people of Michigan. If you didn't know who Rogers works for before, you do now. He works for Trump, not Michigan. And he has no business in the Senate.

WHOA. The Trump admin is fully singling out an ethnic group for different treatment. Hundreds of Somalians in immigration court around the nation have suddenly had their cases rescheduled and put in front of the same Louisiana immigration judge who denied bond to Rümeysa Öztürk.
