@prmalloy_574 @PeteThamel This sort of exists at the FCS level right now, though I will admit even the top 10 or so teams at that level are, comparatively, maxing out their donor bases to keep talent from getting poached.

@PeteThamel Bring back amateur sports. Universities and colleges - go back to your missions. Let pro-leagues sort out a feeder system, and let kids chase money in a true professional setting. Or, go to school for a scholarship and education. Enough.

@north0fnorth I understand the sentiment and generally agree with it, but I do wish more Chicagoans would take the time to understand the cultural nuances that make “downstate” Illinois unique and praiseworthy.

being from the great lakes region is weirdly more important than being from illinois to me. like as a chicagoan i feel more kinship with people in milwaukee, detroit, cleveland, buffalo, etc than i do with people in the quad cities, peoria, or especially carbondale

@AI_LasVegas @esidery Vegas is already having trouble filling its existing larger concert venues. Adding another pro-caliber arena doesn’t make sense. There won’t be a stream of new shows/events to justify the cost. Just share T-Mobile.

Why T-Mobile Arena doesn't make sense as a long-term home for the new NBA franchise: Any ownership group paying around $10 billion for an NBA expansion team will almost certainly want to own their arena outright. That way, they can capture 100% of the revenue from tickets, premium suites, naming rights, sponsorships, concessions, and all non-NBA events. Also, the ownership could build around the venue things like hotel, office, restaurants/bars etc. They will need to maximize their investment.

The overwhelming belief is the NBA’s future expansion team in Las Vegas will begin hosting games at T-Mobile Arena in 2028. T-Mobile Arena, where the Golden Knights and UFC host, would be a short-term home for the new franchise as a new state-of-the-art facility is being built.

@AthleticsPhilly @lightthebeam69 @PeteBraidis @BizballMaury When the Phillies are average to mediocre, the fan support is equally average. Having consistently good teams raises the ratings and attendance levels. Also, the Chicago CSA has about 3.5 M more people than the Del Valley. That’s a sizeable difference.

Philly’s media market is close to the size of Chicago, and sports passion is unmatched. The Phillies get the most local tv viewers of any team. They get more viewers than the Cubs and Sox combined, and even the Dodgers and Angels combined. As seen here, all sourced. x.com/AthleticsPhill…

@scott4331 @LootCrate_ @NFL @NFLDraft @steelers @ProFootballTalk The article goes beyond just attending on consecutive days. They are also counting multiple visits on the same day. Also, they are just straight up exaggerating the final numbers. If the real attendance were more than 150k per day, the hotel occupancy rate would be more than 60%.

@VicLombardi @AltitudeTV Maybe get back on defense if you don’t want to give up a layup. Also maybe don’t lose by 14-16 pts. I have no sympathy for the pros when the other team runs up the score. You’re all professionals getting paid an absurd amount of $. Don’t like it, change the outcome in game.

One of the worst losses I can remember. Classless move by McDaniels. Jokic wasn't thrilled but I wish the Nuggets would have brought that kind of energy when it really mattered. Postgame show starts now on @AltitudeTV
