@Bialynian This was from Opta data that I no longer have access to. 2024 was a bad year, 2023 was good, 2025 was a reversion closer to 2023 but in front of a bad defense (which is had to isolate for w/GK stats)

This is one of the most incorrect takes I've read. -Minus 2024, Brady's been statistically 1 of the best GKs in MLS by advanced metrics. -Dean had a very good game except for a rough call at the end. -Cuypers both scored goals and pressed like a machine (2810 mins last year)

@aaronaldo17 Whole issue w/your argument is you're mistaking symptoms for the disease. Spacing was off everywhere, but I think that's a system issue, not a Cuypers issue. If it was, then it'd have been an issue over the past seasons and it hasn't been.

@sing_electric Cuypers, congrats on the PK I guess. Still had a bad game offensively, together with the rest of the attack. But he’s the main forward and he was crashing with teammates and he was swinging on balls and missing either the ball or the goal 🤷‍♂️ but yeah I guess pressing is important

@aaronaldo17 I still don't think that's a fair assessment of Dean; he's proven to be a more than capable MLS player and keep in mind - he was playing on his weak side. I'm really not sure what he was supposed to do with the handball, since it looked like arm went up when he was pushed

@sing_electric Sure, Dean is great cheap cap option, but realistically shouldn’t be playing, especially as LB. Red card game 2 and giving up a PK on a ball that was going out of play, very bad. Rather have MHS tbh. Also didn’t say Brady was bad, just not what we all think he is

@penant09 And he's not a normal starter on the depth chart. He's been a tremendous value for the squad, cap wise, and he has consistently found a way to break through his ceiling and find a new level

@sing_electric I don’t understand all the hate for Dean. Sometimes it seems like he’s the only man on the pitch who wants to win. Should he be a permanent starter ? No. But the dude hustles and has heart on a team when thats sometimes lacking.

(Not sure what was up with the pitch, looked like it had been re-sodded in stages? outside ~8 yards looked different than inside. Wasn't in great shape but has looked worse, e.g. during football season. Did seem to play like crap today, but weather certainly a factor)

I get that losses are tough but singling out individual performances (especially the wrong ones!) for a collective loss isn't fair (or useful).
