I've long said that playoffs - "the 2nd season" are a form of pro/rel. Glad to see agreement here.

@sing_electric Every team that didn’t make it to that Final was relegated to watch dingus. That is how playoffs work. High school also relegates every senior as they graduate. Always a new season with new players. U are mistaken badly

@lazydays1970 The whole point of pro/rel is that the unit of analysis is the club. Most North American sports "promote" and "relegate" players: Pitcher goes from MLB to AAA, goalie makes it from AHL to NHL, etc.

Being in Pacific time zone was significant: US Soccer's Pro League standards require teams in ET, CT and PT by year 6. As it stands, USL Super League is going into year 3 no teams in PT, with Oakland Soul as only announced expansion plans in PT (w/no set date to join USLSL yet).

NEWS: Spokane Zephyr FC is folding after two seasons in the USL Super League. Ownership informed players on Monday, per multiple sources. Zephyr was the league's only team in the Pacific Time Zone. A statement from a USL spokesperson:

@Bialynian Nothing has changed – end of the day, the ball is in Lewandowski's court here. The Fire have been open about the ambition to bring him here and have made it clear what can bring to the table, but Lewandowski (+family +agent) will need to make a decision.
