@Dedsports Right after wasting yet another bases loaded situation. Get Niu out of there. Oh wait they can't because there's nobody else.

Ole Miss slugger Judd Utermark greets Arkansas closer Ethan McElvain with a solo homer to put the Rebels up 4-3 in the 8th. It's Utermark's 19th homer of the season and the first round tripper McElvain has allowed in 2026

@0Beanie05923291 We're caught in this cycle that has become self-replicating. We simplify things to the point of "dumbing" down because the kids don't have the skills or background knowledge, but that never moves them forward.

This is a heartbreaking video. These students have been in school for over a decade and don’t have the most basic skill needed to flourish upon graduation. Schools don’t need more funding to fix this. They need better focus. No amount of SEL, trauma-informed instruction, or mental health services will overcome illiteracy. Sorry for raising my voice, but just TEACH THE KIDS HOW TO READ! x.com/sharghzadeh/st…

@Dosill18876 @GC_Strategos If we had expressed that we wanted to work, our parents would have been okay with it but they didn't push it. For them school was always the priority.

@GC_Strategos My dad was the same. In fact not only did he not encourage it, he actively advocated against it.

My parents never encouraged me to work in high school. I remember talking to my dad about summer jobs and he said, “Why would you want to do that? You will have the rest of your life to work.”

@wcdispatch Private school teachers get better results because there are little to no behavior problems. Parents who pay for private school make sure their kids are prioritizing academics and have good behavior. And, students who do not meet that standard are promptly removed from the school

I do not support increasing teacher pay. The reality is that public school teachers work 2/3rds of the year, receive better benefits than nearly everyone, and work less. It’s worth noting that private school teachers almost universally are paid less than public school teachers, yet have universally better results from students. It’s not about pay. It’s about culture. And the culture that public schools inculcate is not beneficial for society.
Erin Derham@HistoryBoutique

I FULLY support increasing teachers pay, but… this is not about teachers pay. Dems have co-opted teachers around the country into protesting against the current administration. All in the name of an obvious issue, low salaries. It’s smoke and mirrors, folks. The number of administrators has grown 20 times larger than the number of students. Admissions are declining. Literacy is declining. The real answer if you actually care about teachers… Mass deportations and firing of bloated administrations.

@WhispyReloaded I'm not calling him that because it's a dumba** nickname. It has no flow and is kinda clunky. Maybe it sounds better in Finnish

@JonahDispatch Agreed. There's a lot I like about it, but it also has lots of problems (by Kurt Russell's own admission).

I may be in the minority on this from the Arkansas side, but I think Arkansas-Missouri State is a legit baseball rivalry. Not gonna be confused for Sox/Yankees or anything, but both programs absolutely don’t wanna lose to the other. And tonight, Hogs could really use a win.

@Hoopss Why did so many shows that came out in the late 90s and early 2000s, start out with amazing writing and characters, only to regress by the mid 2000s into over the top, annoying characters that are dumb and always clowning or acting a fool? The regression in modern spongebob 🤮
