HUGE Shoutout to Matt Harris with @VUadmission for presenting on highly selective admissions. Matt Harris is a part of the Great Class of 2002!

Thank you to all of our families and presenters for making the 2023 Junior College Planning Night a success. We welcomed 250 students and families to discuss topics such as the college timeline, financial aid, selective admissions and more!

Rockhurst's College Counseling Office, @rhscco, will also host the KC Private High Schools' College Fair tomorrow (Wednesday) at 6:30 p.m. in the performance gym and Loyola Center. All students and their parents/guardians are encouraged to attend. (2/3)

College representatives will start visiting RHS on Wednesday. Seniors can access the list and sign up on Naviance. Juniors will need to email Mr. Meeker.

Seniors, be sure to check your email for the email from Ms. Diamond regarding signing up for your individual meeting with your college counselor. The information will also be included in the PNL this Sunday.

Reminder to all seniors and their parents: Tonight at 6:30 PM in the Rose, the College Counseling Office is Hosting our Class of 2024 Application Kick-Off Program. We will cover a variety of things, including deadlines, letters of recommendations, visits, and more!

As we get ready for another year, make sure you are reading the Principal's Newsletter each Sunday. This is a great resource to find information regarding upcoming CCO events, colleges visiting school, scholarships, and more!

Seniors: Don't forget your college counselors are in office today and tomorrow for walk-in meetings!

1) Application Work Week: August 14-15, the CCO will be open for students who would like to meet before school starts. 2) Class of 2024 Kick-Off : 6:30 pm in the Rose on 8/22, For seniors/parents to cover the college application process, resources available, and more!

Common trend with our teachers: Freshmen year was a blast!

He wanted to attend a regional Jesuit university with a good pre-med program, but obviously ended up teaching! In college, he has fond memories of being a freshmen resident assistant and 9 P.M. Sunday evening masses at St. Francis Xavier College Church.

Patrick Doyle is a member of the RHS Science Department, teaching biology and chemistry. He graduated from RHS in '08 and went on to attend Saint Louis University where he graduated with a B.A. in Chemistry and minors in Theology and Spanish.

Our students enjoyed meeting with representatives from 24 Catholic colleges and universities today during activity period for the Catholic College Fair! (1/2)

Along with the Catholic College Fair, Jr. College Planning Workshop, and the KC Prvt Schools' Fair, we also have 20 schools visiting this week, including @LifeAtPurdue @univofdayton @USCAdmission @TrumanState @QMUL & @Baylor ! Srs. register on Naviance. Jrs. email Mr. Meeker.

This weeks college highlight is @UWMadison Enrollment - 33,506 undergrad Selectivity - 60% Top Majors: Biology, Economics, Political Science Fun Fact: Madison is one of only 5 platinum-level bike cities in the US and has been named one of the best cities on Earth for biking.

One of his more fond memories was debating literature, with fellow English majors, at Shakespeare's Pizza late into the night.

Chris Hopper new to the Rock this year is an instructor of 10/11 English. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in poetry from @Mizzou in '95. He wanted a school that wasn't too far from home but wanted to be far enough away from his parents to be independent.
