It’s been hard to enjoy cars for a year or so. I haven’t managed to race this year and have probably spent more time pondering liquidating everything than cars. But, I’ve used this a bit more, and today, spiritedly so! Huzzah. Nothing better than heal n’ toe in a manual ferrari.

Listen, if Taylor Swift suddenly gets awarded a contract to provide healthcare services to the NHS, is given part of the HS2 line to run or gets given a life peerage like Lord Siberia or whatever he’s called, then let’s chat about Starmer taking his kids to her concert shall we.

I'll make my point a little more seriously. £37bn of tax money of many people reading this went during Covid to allegedly corrupt people and organisations. Not one head has rolled, not one person arrested, not one person doorstepped to answer questions. Just one puff ball interview with one woman and her husband. That £37bn has cost British lives, savings, businesses and hope. Still, 4 years later, zero accountability for a monster political story. Instead, in all seriousness, a senior UK tv journalist has tweeted a story that's so irrelevant that anyone reading it can only draw one conclusion. That "look over there at a shiny bulshit story that'll titilate " replaces serious political journalism surrounding corruption of the state. You've just tweeted a one liner in Private Eye when you should be looking for the front page of UK state corruption.

Sky News can reveal Home Secretary Yvette Cooper went for free to a Taylor Swift concert as guest of Swift’s music label Universal Music. Ms Cooper went as a guest of her huband, Ed Balls who was given four tickets. Later that month the home secretary had discussions about boosting protection for Ms Swift when she was in London after concerts were cancelled in Vienna because of a foiled attack Mr Balls received the tickets on August 4, before the Swift's shows in Vienna were cancelled This has not appeared in the public register to date because the tickets were understood to be worth £170 - less than the £300 that would make it a declarable expense. Earlier today the home secretary made the declaration to the cabinet office.

Am I the only one stunned that UK media has dared to make an equivalence between a few Taylor Swift tickets and 14 years of corruption in which our NHS and public services have been deliberately crippled and untold billions of our money stolen and given to crooked Tory donors?
