On the steps where veteran North Carolina teachers won't see salary increases, their net play will likely decrease next year due to increases in costs in the State Health Plan. Same applies to non-certified school staff who aren't getting state raises. #nced #ncpol

@Suchmo83 Yeah... if I was being taught how to fix a car (not my area of expertise!), I imagine I'd prefer the mechanic to explain each part when we got around to it, rather than pre-listing them out of context and before I was even certain about what the new learning was around.

@jasonc_nc @musharbash_b As a native it’s been an amazing transformation :)

Cary has been doing an especially good job of taking what was largely suburban neighborhoods and really going all in on densifying and expanding their downtown core thoughtfully. For example that urban park was done alongside new construction of retail/restaurants and apartments above that also included a library movement and expansion. So the parking deck built serves the park and all those other uses as a single shared use deck vs the waste you usually see. Coordination, long term vision just seems better than elsewhere. So rare to see competency lately that when you do it’s kind of shocking tbh. (PS Cary is bonkers on diversity scale so it’s also where I go for the best Indian and various Asian, Turkish options around. Biryani on Sunday is 🔥 and our kid is a dosa fanatic now, alongside hotpot)

@richardsonsroom You have to go to Joe’s BBQ. Simply the best, in my opinion (though Q39 is also great). The WWI Museum is fantastic. If you're into baseball, don’t miss the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. My wife swears by the Arabia Steamboat Museum too.
