@Nelsonsgoodarm @NavyLookout It was supported by a non-profit and volunteers who served on similar ship's (they made 175 of this ship)now they are starting to pass. Since the U.S. had around 16 mil people serve in the war and uk had around 3.7 mil people maybe just more volunteers advocate for the history

@NavyLookout Oh dear! That’s genuinely sad. The USA has been much better than us in the UK at preserving historic 20th C warships. We only have 1 WW1 cruiser, 1 WW2 cruiser and 1 WW2 destroyer. No carriers or dreadnoughts.

WWII destroyer 🇺🇸USS The Sullivans preserved as museum ship in Buffalo, New York partially sunk. Ship had been leaking slightly for years and divers were attempting repairs before sudden list appeared.
