Bear found in two day sugar coma after eating 40 pounds of ice cream. When workers opened an Arkansas ice cream shop, they thought the bear on the floor was dead. The freezer was destroyed, cones were crushed everywhere, and CCTV showed the bear breaking in overnight and eating its way through more than 40 pounds of ice cream before collapsing beside the display case. Wildlife officers rushed him to a clinic, where vets realized he was still alive. His heart rate had dropped, his breathing was slow, and his body had basically crashed from the sugar, cold food, and exhaustion. For two days, he slept under watch, and when he finally woke up, he was groggy, sticky, and still licking vanilla off his paw. The shop turned the chaos into its best ad campaign ever, selling a new flavor called “Bearly Awake”

Monday night at Town Meeting, during the standing count for Article 33, Canton Moderator Doc Staiti was caught on a hot mic behind the curtain with alternate moderator Sal Salvatore saying: “Well we won that one… I probably should not have said that.” That’s the problem. The Moderator is supposed to oversee Town Meeting neutrally not sound like a participant celebrating a result. Whether people supported Article 33 or opposed it is not even the point anymore. The point is public confidence. When residents already have concerns about transparency, fairness, and trust in town government, moments like this only deepen the divide. Maybe this is exactly why more residents are now pushing for an ELECTED moderator instead of an appointed one. Or at the very least… one that remembers the microphone is still on. Also caught on the hot mic, was a glimpse of how $$$ makes you friends with William O'Donnell the register of deeds for Norfolk County
