I know Celtic fans won’t agree but, as dramatic as today has been, that’s an awful outcome for Scottish football. If Celtic can cycle through three managers, struggle for most of the season, yet win the title anyway, what does it say about the state of the game up there?

So disappointing. I think this reflects badly on Josh Sargent, but even worse on Wasserman. The nonsense that they want the football world to believe is that Sargent had good reason to do what he did, and they’ve been willing to falsely problematise Norwich City in order to achieve that pathetic end. They’ve learned from that horrendous Sky Sports post that they can’t lie about what happened, even outside their name, because the public will see right through it. Now, they’ve got Josh to say nothing, sound as though he has a side of the story to tell but is keeping his counsel - almost as if he’s the honourable diplomat in this situation. It’s a way of managing reputation through subliminal messaging, without making real accusations that would totally backfire. I’m not minimising Josh’s participation in this horrendously nauseating race to the bottom, because he’s an adult who can make his own decisions. But I don’t think most footballers do this by nature. They don’t do it on their own. Most players are good people who wanted to do right by their club, and I believe Josh did. Unfortunately, the bad agencies can take them on the wrong path, by being in their ear, regularly encouraging ethical fading, and appealing to the more selfish side that exists in all of us. I hope fewer clubs work with Wasserman after this, as I believe they have no sense of integrity, and are completely out of touch with the true spirit of the game.
